Question: I have Daydream mode while the tablet is in the dock. I like having the tablet do double duty as a digital picture frame (shuffle would be nice). The question is, am I hurting the tablet? Will running a slideshow reduce the life of the tablet over time?

It shouldn't affect the tablet, smartphones and tablets are build to be on 24/7

on that note, the only issue will be the battery, li-ion batteries have a 200 full cycles after those 200 the battery wont retain charge as good as new, even if the phone is connected to a dock or charger, the tablet will charge to 100% then it will stop charging until it drain a little then it will recharge the battery to 100%, a full cycle is from 0% to 100%

The logic makes sense, but wouldn't the same thing happen to a tablet in the dock even if daydream/slideshow isn't enabled? It's still using cpu cycles to retrieve emails, notifications etc. so the power would be fluctuating as well. No?
