Android 4.3 Update Problems.......

I noted the following problems....hope others having problems will post here to get a good response from sony...

1. My phone is slow even though I uninstalled most of the applications I used in 4.1.

2. (maybe the same problem) my remaining ram is around 190 and 200 even though i have disabled most of the applications.

3. phone in battery saver and stamina mode on for 8 hours battery draind 8 percent..( 4.1 It never happened)

4. Screen is sort of blinking when waking up...

5. Led notification light keeps on during the call....

6. Autobrightness is not working as promised to correct it.....

is it worth to have a phone like this???????????

shame on you sony you took so long for this update, finally to produce a **bleep** like this...????

I updated yesterday and so far I've had the following problems...(have not installed or downloaded any new apps since before the update)
1) phone can become very slow
2) phone freezes occasionally
3) occasionally when on stand by the screen does not turn on - have to plug it in to charge for it to turn on
4) apps stop responding - including those that are built in (e.g. Messages)
5) over night phone charge went from 80% to 11% in the space of 7 hours - before update it would only go down by about 3-8% over night

Tell us Sony. Are u happy with the 4.3 update?

As many people, i have serious problems with my phone afer the 4.3 update. Phone is too slow now. Apps just crash from time to time. Even if an application works, takes more than 30 secs to start running after pressing the shortcut. Sometimes i can't open my contacts, messages or incoming calls list because phone is freezing. Sometimes i can't even have a call because i have no signal and i can only have emergency calls (my signal was no less than 2 lines b4 the update). Also i am getting random restarts sometimes. I have reseted phone to factory settings 3 times, i reinstalled the update with SUS with no any improvements. So i am asking u guys. Are u happy with the update and u gonna keep it? Or are u gonna give us a hot fix soon? Is there an option to intall 4.2 again? I really don't trust this phone anymore. I'm sure i'm missing calls or messages and can't communicate anymore with other people...

I had the same problem. Made a clean install with sus and everything is fine. The chrome browser was acting weirdly but after a reinstall it's fine. Also the xperia facebook integration caused some slowdown, so I turned it off.

I'm having the same problems here :'(

So much time and effort and I don't know how do they send us something like this :S

I much prefer that they told me their having some issues with some bugs than releasing a really faulty firmware :S

I was also having lots of problem after the update. But after repairing my phone most of the problem despaired. But two major problem is still present. During installing, update installing and unistalling an app the phone freezes and does not respond to touches. This is a new kind of problem which I never faced in 4.1.2. And while the wifi range is fixed, now it just cant maintain the connection to internet for more than a minute, even though it shows wifi signal is full.

It is strange that phones purchased in different parts of the world have so many different problems although it is the same model of the phone.

For instance, I haven't notices any real improvement in wifi range, however, my phone's wifi connections are stable both at home and at work.

Guys, you may not like this but this isn't a sony issue, its an android issue.

Read other forums for your carrier or a different phone vendor, ALL will show some people having issues and slowdowns/battery drain etc. after an Android update.

The resolution almost everytime is to do a reset of your device, i.e. factory reset and re-set it up and all their issues are resolved, I also have a S4 and had lots of issues after updating to 4.3, a factory reset fixed it.

With android (assuming you have set it up) everything should be backed up to google anyway, thus as soon as you enter your details again, it'll download all your contacts / apps etc.etc.

Make sure all your music and photos are saved to your memory card and all will be fine.

Sure i agree its RUBBISH - but its not really Sony's fault it just seems the android way unfortunatly... (which is why some people dont have an issue and their device is working fine after the update)

Try it - you just might be surprised

After upgrading to 4.3, my phone just hangs with a traingle screen with spanner. If i turn it off using the small yellow button at the back this screen just comes back again. Has been like this for 1.5hrs now. Really unhappy with this....

Any ideas??? Really stuck without phone...

I have the same problems.
When i upgrade first the device was slow at everything then all apps start crashing i do factory restore it didnt solve the problem, i run PC companion and start update again.. crash fix but my devise is realy slow.. my ram always is less than 200 with no apps installed, 200mb only with fresh update and factory restore... is verry same for sony.. Sony had always problems with updates.. this is **bleep** i have this phone 3 months now and is verry slow.. Sony SP.. **bleep** sony??? check it before u release the upgrade..
All is marketing... i think they wanna realease new phones with 2giga ram and they do this trick with 4.3 upgrade so our phones will be slow .. to buy new ones.

Hold the internal rest for about 10 seconds. The device will vibrate for three times. In my happened and it just so decided. Sorry for my english! I used Google Translator same! ^ ^

Updated yesterday via pc companion, here are some of the bugs I am still encountering as of today:

1. Camera performance greatly decreased.
- Stuttering during video record at full hd, stuttering also present in the recorded video
-Poor autofocus, especially at low light (compared to 4.1.2, this never happened for me before the update)
-Slow camera startup, especially from lock screen
-Social camera app not present
-Overall decrease in image quality

2. NFC doesn't work or won't turn on.

3. Screen dimming not smooth, very noticeable.

4. Mobile Bravia engine 2 doesn't improve images and videos even when turned on. I tested it and the quality is the same as when turned off.

5. Screen layout problems during app installion/uninstallation, the app name is clearly out of place.

6. Increased battery drain even with stamina mode on.

7. Developer options are gone.I don't know if sony chose to remove it entirely or i just don't know where it is after update.

8. Etc. I'm sure there's more,I haven't tested out everything yet.

Please let me know if any of you are experiencing the same bugs as I am and what fixes you did for said problems.

Additionals:
The camera app crashes often then becomes unavailable until you restart your phone. I don't like the fact that you can't set the image resolution any more when using superior auto.bad move by Sony, I think I'm gonna revert back to 4.1.2 if this isn't resolved by next month.

Thank god!! I have not yet updated my phone to 4.3 release. After seeing all these issues reported here after the 4.3 update, I think I should live with the current version update for now. For others who are having issues with 4.3 update, I suggest that you format the entire phone inlcuding the memory card (don't forget to take the backup) and re-install the OS using Sony PC Companion tool. This may solve some of your problems.

Tam the resets doesn't change anything except it removes all your installed apps and increases some more space . What's the point in removing all the apps and getting some space if I need those apps..and even updating via sud also doesn't help...and why is Sony so silent...can't they see our problems....

People, I had all the problems after the update to 4.3... Yesterday I think that were solved almost all bugs, I did the Restore to factoring setup using the SUS software, the phone was completely cleaned (all personal data must have a backup...), but now is without the legs to change between softwares and other errors..

After update Bravia Engine does not work, it has no effect on image and video Quality.
Is there any body who checked/faced that BE2 problem????????
