So should I turn on Stamina mode always to extend battery life?

Hello eveyrone,

I was just hoping that you could help me understand how to efficiently maximize my battery life of my Z1.

I noticed that when STAMINA mode is turned off, the standby time decreases but the "standard" time usage is longer.

However, when STAMINA mode is off, standby time is longer (6-10 days), but the "standard" time usage is shorter.

How should I go about this? Should I always turn Stamina mode on to save battery? Or are there instances when I should deactivate Stamina mode to maximize my Z1's power? Why is this so?

My Z1 battery drops/skips numbers! Help?

Hi i bought my Z1 last night and out of the package, it was 65%.

I was using it a little then when it reached 56%, the battery immediately dropped to 49%!

And just when i thought that was bad, my 49% skipped numbers and immediately dropped to 40% in a matter of a minute!

I used it regularly until it dropped to 1% before i charged it for like 3 hours.

When my phone reached 100%, i used it to view my text messages for 30 seconds then it immediately dropped to 99%! And this happened even when it was still connected to the charger!

Is this normal for a new phone or should i go to the sony store and have it checked?

Try the basic, repair your phone with SUS or PCC and check again

Hi, sorry for creating another thread.

Basically my Z1 is a day old. I did all the necessary things already.

Last night, I went to bed at around 12 midnight. My phone was 78%. I woke up at around 7:30am and my battery was 72%.

Before going to bed, I closed all apps, set my network to GSM only, activated stamina mode, and i have no task killers, antivirus etc.

I have also repaired my phone via PCC.

Is this normal?

if your network coverage is poor it will drain your battery, also since your phone is new it will take few days for the battery to work properly, its normal do check this FAQ thread(s)

mate you really have nothing to worry about.. plase remember that at 100% charge the phone is really fully charged..

however, the minute you start using the phone its running on battery and 99.9% charge is considered 99 not 100 since they round down to give you enough time to reach a charger port...

hence 5% could be 5.01 or 5.99...

Its something thats always happened with most smartphones.. the rest of the battery dropping im uncertain as to why that is happening.. check your background apps.

He is right - if your mobile network signal is weak your battery could drain that fast. Check if the reception is fine. If it has full bars, then it's a problem. I've had this happen to me while I had an SD card inside. The card was eventually fried (not sure why), and after removing it the battery went back to being insanely good in standby, as it should be by design.

Assuming you have good network coverage, your phone could potentially last 17-18 days in idle mode, with STAMINA on.

I have a good reception back at home. Full bars.

I recently replaced my 32 GB sd card to a 64 GB one.

I am still hoping that it will change things.

I noticed that my idle time on stamina mode is only 11 days is that faulty?

To go back to the original title of this thread a bit: is there any reason NOT to be in Stamina mode all the time? More specifically, when the phone is new and still learning my usage pattern?

Stamina mode could be used when you are somewhere and you want your battery preserved,otherwise you can enjoy the maximum potential of your phone.

What about when the phone is new;does having the phone in Stamina mode mess up the usage optimization? Thanks in advance.

Not really,it does not have why to mess the phone.But you can try one week without stamina mode,play with your phone,use it.After 1-2 weeks,enable stamina mode.Use it like that for some time.

Hey man, There is nothing to worry about.
Charge your phone when battery is below 20% and do not use your phone while charging, let it fully charge.
After sometime it will be fixed.
