SBH 52 app don't work anymore with Android 4.3

C6833 unlocked Aus version

after updating to 4.3 via PC Companion, SBH52 app will no longer trigger from connecting with SBH52. The two devices are connected and can be use for phone, but extra functions like call history, speed dial, "New Events" and the clock on SBH52 no longer displays.

Already did the following -

Reinstall the SBH52 app
Reinstall SBH52's firmware

My only speculation is the app requires update.

Update - Uninstall "Smart Connect" (you cant fully uninstall it bcoz is native) and update it again, this seems to solve the issue.

Hi,

Im having the same problem here with my C6833. It is just rotalution solution dosen't work for me. Even SBH52 are now missing in device list showing in Smart Connect. I tried to reinstall SBH52 apps but still not appear in Smart Connect.

Hope anyone can give me a tips how to fix this problem

If you haven't tried it already, try restarting both the phone and headset after installing Smart Connect and the app for SBH52.

Hi Rickard,

Yes i did restart both devices, and it not solve the problem. Also i notice after update to 4.3, everytime i pair SBH52 (using NFC) it will prompt pairing permission. before 4.3 it only ask for permission only for the firs time pairing.

You only need to pair them once using NFC. The phone and headset remembers the pairing so you don't have to make a new paring every time you want to use it. If you want to connect them after being out of range, just press the answering button.

If you're having problems using or connecting the headset, remove the pairing in the phone under Settings -> Bluetooth, make a master reset of the headset, clear data for Smart Connect and SBH52 under Settings -> Apps and then pair them again using NFC or bluetooth. After this you may need to restart the phone and headset.

Hi Rickard,

It work after i clear cache data for Smart Connect. Now the problem is, everytime i switch off SBH52, and try to reconnect, the problem happen again. The only way to get away of it is that i need to clear the Smart Connect data everytime i need to reconnect the headset.

And also to reconnect after being out of range by pressing the aswering button also wont work. (well actually i just know this method after you mention it.. thank for the tips, too bad it wont work for me now).

Well, I also have the same problem after the latest update of smart connect.
My phone is a Galaxy Note 3, with Android 4.3.
Smart connect not working anymore and SBH52 also missing in smart connect.

I already have tried all the above option, but none of them is working.

The whole Smart Connect/sbh52 is kinda useless now.
Hope that they will fix it soon.

Could you also try to uninstall updates for Smart Connect under Settings -> Apps -> Smart Connect and let me know if that makes any difference.

I have the same promblem as well update my Sony Ultra Z to Andriod 4.3 using the Sony PC Companion. Now my Sony SBH 52 connects once in a while and it doesn't have any of the smart features.

After uninstall update for Smart Connect, everything works fine!! .

Only reconnect using answering button doesn't work, not sure if it because 4.3 update, i never use that method to reconnect before.

Not sure what causes this. It works for me when i test this on the same software but i will update this thread as soon as i have more information.

Update: Bluetooth crashing phones Wi-Fi.

Phone would not connect to houses Wi-Fi, actually it didn't detect ANY Wi-Fi. My other devicec no problem connecting to my Wi-Fi and see other neighbour s Wi-Fi. Turn off Bluetooth from pull down notification menu that is connected to my sbh52, straight away the Wi-Fi refreshes and see my home Wi-Fi and connect itself plus able to detect neighbours Wi-Fi

Also have Galaxy Note 3 and following Smart Connect update my SBH52 no longer shows up under devices within the app so can't use smart extensions such as call logs, Gmail or sms notification. Please fix ASAP as this was main reason for buying. Can't uninstall update as have since reset phone.

Had problems with my smartwatch 2 and sbh52 after the 4.3 update. NFC would not work at all. Smart Connect update removed and voila. Problems solved with both devices.

I got the same problem. after 4.3 SBH52 dosent work more. it wont connect with my z ultra, ive tryed to reset, uninstall, on/off, factory reset. No fix for it. after my 20 th try it connected and showed the SBH 52 icon, it work for about 10 min then the bluetooth came up and ask to connect and now it dosent work again... Sony can you pls fix this update, after such a long roll out on 4.3 at least you could do was to make sure your own products work

Same wifi problem. Can't detect any WIFI when SBH52 connected, only on android 4.3. (4.2.2 working fine)

I've received for christmas a sony sbh50 but it doesn't work with android 4.3 (Note II). I've 3 icons and I haven't 5 icons.

How can i solve this problem?
