So I just bought a new Xperia M phone today. I get it home everything on the phone is working fine, however when I turn on Wifi my laptop gets bumped off the network and is not able to connect as long as the mobile has its wireless turned on. The moment I turn off the wifi on my xperia my laptop is once again able to connect.

I have tried restarting the phone, the laptop, the router, and the modem. None of this will allow both devices to be connected at the same time. I can however connect a second phone to the wifi route, an ipad, and a different laptop. So it appears to me that for some reason the xperia is overrunning the wifi from my samsung laptop.

This is on a Belkin N300 wireless router.

The laptop uses a Realtek RTL8192E Wireless LAN 802.11n PCI-E NIC

Drivers are up to date on both devices and the phone is using android 4.1.2.

Any suggestions how I can make both devices work at the same time?

Thanks for the reply uliwooly but unfortunately that isn't going to help. The phone connects perfectly fine to the wireless network, the problem is, that when it does connect it seems to interfere with other devices, namely my laptop. As long as the phone has wireless turned on it connects fine but does not allow my laptop to connect at all.

What I need to do it figure out how to have them both work at the same time, and both be connected to the same wireless network.

I'm having the same issue. Can't seem to have my Xperia and laptop connected to my home network simultaneously. Any updates on fixes?
