Stamina mode flaw causing overheat, battery drain issues!

After a week of experimenting, I have come to the conclusion that there may be a software error with stamina mode on my Xperia SP. I experienced overheating and battery drain issues with stamina mode active as opposed to normal phone operation with it off.

The problem is that with stamina mode on, the cpu cores run at a constant 70-100% even on standby. This causes the phone to overheat and the battery to be consumed in less that 6 hours.

I have links to screenshots to prove my assumptions.

Note the high cpu core usage and battery temp values while on standby.

These should be the normal values during standby.

Sony should take a look at this problem and fix it with the next OS update. People who are experiencing the same issues should try disabling stamina mode and see if it helps. It works for me and I had this phone only a week.

Hello all!

Sorry for my request.

I bought my SXSP 2 weeks ago. And i found that my battery drains very fast.

If i'll go to Settings -> Power management then estimated standby time with STAMINA is my battery percents.

For example if i have 100% then my time is 4 days 4 hours.

And 1 hour = 1%. So if i'll go to sleep and when i'll wake up my battery will have 92%. It means that 8% drained per night.

BUT! If i'll activate flight mode my battery will drain as well as without it.

I have the last firmware. All data such as GPS, WiFi or Bluetooth are disable.

Can you help me? Or i must go to Sony Centre and change the battery?

have you excluded any app on STAMINA Mode? if you have and that app requires to be connected or syncing then it defeat the purpose of STAMINA Mode.

also stay away from this apps

taskillers

antivirus

ram apps

battery apps

booster apps

if you have them, uninstall them.

also post screenshots of your battery list and the graph

settings > power management > battery

But now i ask 2 people about this stats and the first said that his time is 7 days 11 hours. And the second said that 9 days and 5 hours. Why my stats so bad?

And i want say that any app which can do some actions when screen off ISN'T a problem. 2 days ago i saw this graphs and "Awake" = "Screen on", but battery drained too

there's nothing wrong with your phone, other people might have their data, gps off and they hardly use their phone; but this should explain it

But how explain my stats. 4 days 4 hours = 100%. And every hour my percent decrese by 1.

Somebody says that at night his battery drains 2-3% or NOTHING, but mine at least 8.

In flight mode also 8-10%. I think that my battery is defective. Can i change it in Sony centre if my phone was bought 2 weeks ago?

most likely you have apps that keep your phone awake, if you have facebook syncing how ofte do you sync? how often do you sync gmail, email, whatsapp? etc

No. I made hard reset and my phone now like in the shop. I don't use facebook, gmail, etc... sync if off

i had similar problem when i first bought the phone. After carefully monitoring i found it's a launcher app that is giving problem. It drains about 18% during flight mode in 8 hours. I would strongly suggest you look at which apps is the cause and uniinstall it and restart the phone again. you can monitor easily by putting the phone in flight mode for an hour. If the apps is draining your battery you could easily see at least 2% power drop in an hour of flight mode.

Same for me here , every hour it drops like 2-3% and most of the forum says its normal . I just get annoy very much how I'm not using it and it still drops . Not much wakelocks i think since i check gsam

It is not like you are not using it means battery will remain same...DUDE you are using a smartphone now and now not only screen takes your battery but each and everything in your phone consumes the batter. You can see for yourself by going to Settings?Power management>Battery Usage.

For all those who are facing fast battery drain:-
1) Go to Settings-->Power Management-->Disable all the three options.
2) Go to Settings-->Apps-->Find "Eco mode controller" and clear data.
3) Go to Settings-->Apps-->Find "Weather Widget" and disable it.
4) Go to Settings-->In Wireless & Connections-Click 'More..'-->Click Mobile Networks-->Network Mode>Choose GSM only.(your 3g/4g data might nt work)
5) Go to Settings-->Developr Options-->Enable it-->Scroll down and click on "Background process limit" and select "No background processes".
6) Go to Settings-->Developer options-->Turn off window animations and transition(optional).
7) Go to Settings-->Sound-->And deselect Vibrate on Touch.
8)Reduce brightness to least as possible to preserve battery.
9) Turn off wifi,data,gps,bluetooth,etc. when not in use.
10) Do not use Live wallpapers...use Static wallpapers..

Now your Xperia device is ready to boost as a beast at its best!

I did all u asked. few hours it worked fine and then start the draining again. I found that extended stand by mode start automatically.

Hi, my phone was best in battery , but after installing new update from sony (encrypted phone) it didn't start up again and i had to hard reset my phone with SUS software. it updated to the last version but the battery drains very faster than before update .

when i rechareged my mobile to 100% n removed my charger den my battery percentage drops to 92% directly..within 1-2 mins...even without using phone...n now at 70%-80 in stamina mode it shows 11 hours...n drains d battery so quickly...
