Getting notification to update system software even after installing

I updated system software of my xperia z1 to 14.2.A.0.290 (Android version 4.3) couple of weeks ago. The update went successful, build number in "About phone" of settings is showing as 14.2.A.0.290. But from yesterday, I am getting notification again to update to version 14.2.A.0.290 and it is not going away.

From sony website (http://www.sonymobile.com/in/software/phones/xperia-z1/), I do not see any new update available. How can I make the notification to go away?

I think it will only reinstall actual software.where does the.notification appear?in update centre?

When I click on notification to update, it is taking to update centre, and asking to connect to computer.

Just remove the update from update centre.hiw did you update in the first time?via pcc,right?

I updated system software using a PC only.

It is not allowing me to hide systmem software updates in "Manage updates" screen. For example, I have hidden Info-eye updates in this screenshot, but there is no option to hide system software update.

Thanks, this is working fine, and clearing notification.

But if I launch update center again, it is showing that system software update is available. Is there a permenent fix for this? Again I am not sure why it is showing an update that is already installed.

Probably it had the notification before you updated vis pc,so now it tells you over and over.It should let you remove the update from there,how about if you go to update centre,tap longer on it,don't you get options?

@Murty_Munukutla - Goto update centre and press the refresh button at top right. I looks like a circle with an arrow head.

This might solve your problem as i had similar issues with my Z1.

@alexdon : Long press is not giving any options.
@Ramz1 : I tried refresh when I see this issue first, it did not work.

May be I will try to do factory reset or reinstall some time next weekend to get rid of this notification (not sure if that fixes). I do not like see a notification in my phone that means to say I am not up to date :-).

In the meanwhile, any other suggestions are welcome.

I kind of understand,sure,but if you go for a repair or factory reset,backup your important data before.

alex and uliwooly this is happening to all phones in india.. we are all getting some version of an update. i am not sure what it is but im contemplating installing it to find out what the update is all about.. there doesnt seem to be any difference to the old build but it pops up on pc companion as soon as you plug your phone in....

I updated to latest version 14.2.A.1.136. And also did factory reset by erasing internal memory. Still showing a notification that a new update 14.2.A.1.136 is available.

Same thing happened with me. Notification was showing even after update through PC.

But after a while, when left connected to internet it went off by itself.
