Hey,

the display of my xperia x10 mini ist broken, but the touchscreen still works. i would like to save my contacts and calender entries via usb and pc companion (pcc). unfortunately pcc recognizes the phone, but wants me to prompt the connection via toucing the menue entry on the phone - which does not work due to the corrupt lcd-display...

is there are chance to do the saving / connection with pc companion (pcc: latest update version) with prompting the connection on the phone? i think, i have enabled usb debugging once and also did a backup a few months ago, so there should be some files on the phon - but how to access them?

i hope, there is someone who can help me - thanks in advance!

Hi,

the LCD screen seems to be broken (mainly black with a few vertical coloured lines on it). If I touch the screen itself, there is a haptic feedback / vibration like normal wehn unlocking et cetera. So I assumed it (the touchscreen not the lcd screen) might be still working - although I can't proove it.

Regards,

mo_sys

If the touch doesn't work, you will not be able to transfer any data to your PC since the phone cannot get any connection to the PC. I'm not aware of any function to by pass this.

This is why sony should make it so that when you plug your Xperia into the computer it displays your mobile phone screen on your computer display and lets you control it with the mouse. This way you can back it up before its sent off for repair and all information is lost. Ive already told sony to do this more than once because I have had this issue twice now. The first time was with an Xperia Z that I had droped face down and there was just a hair fracture. The other was my Z2 that the screen was completley smashed. In both cases the computer recognized them but the touch capability was destroyed so I could not unlock the phone in order to back them up. Please everyone contact Sony and ask them to make this part of the pc companion and the Sony Mac bridge. This will help everyone in the future.
