Xperia Z tethering problem

Have windows 7 64 bit and Sony Pc Companion installed , works 100% locates my device.

MTP works 100% locates both internal drive and SD card.

However the minute i connect my USB cable in MTP mode and I activate USB Tethering it the connection CRASHES!!!

My Phones USB thethering works 100% in my laptop tho using windows 8 pro.

Can anyone help. I even right clicked on Xperia Z1 folder , to establish or connect the deviice but that also "NOT Responding"

Help!!!!!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Do you mean that the USB connection crashes or is it the tethered Internet connection that crashes?

Both MTP drivers and tethering drivers are provided with your OS, so you want to try running a Windows update or check if these drivers can be downloaded separately.

Hi there Johan , the tethering connection crashes after a few seconds(phone screen flickers) for a while then disconnects. But It works 100% on my windows 8.1pro laptop. Could it be that I am missing a driver on my desktop - cos I had done a fresh install of windows 7 pro 3 weeks ago - However I did windows update ... No new updates available! I have heard or been reading of NDIS 6.20 driver being missing can this be the problem ? How would I know if I have a missing driver...? Or where can I find this drivers for usb tethering? Much appreciated
