Updated my Z1 to 4.3 last week. Pebble constantly disconnects and reconnects. I have noticed that if I connect my Motorola bluetooth headset but don't play any music, the BT link drops. This means if I was using the headset to await a call, the headset would stay connected for a few seconds, then drop.

I suspect in my case the phone is dropping the BT because it's idle. If I run the headset with music playing, the Pebble stays connected reliably.

I'm really annoyed at this development in 4.3. In 4.2.2 it was stable.

Hi.

I am having problems with Wi-Fi at home (don't know why yet), but the strange thing is that when I lose Wi-Fi, my smartwacht Pebble (linked via bluetooth) also disconnects.

I've tried Xperia SP and Xperia L phones, both brand new and just updated.

In Xperia L, the phone is unable to reconnect with Pebble. I have to disable and enable manually Wi-Fi on my phone and then it can link with the smartwatch again.

In Xperia SP, Pebble can reconnect in a few seconds.

I asked about this in Pebble forum and get this answer: "Sounds like a bug in the BT implementation on the ROM your phone is running, I've seen similar bugs before on flaky kernels and roms"

So, it could be a bug? Anyone having problems with other bluetooth devices when Wi-Fi fails?

Or just incompatibility between Xperia SP and my fashionable Pebble?

Finally, I have noticed that, in Xperia SP, Pebble disconnections have nothing to do with problems in Wi-Fi. It just disconnects and reconnects occasionally, as Z1 issue related before.

I just turn off Pebble disconnections alerts, and never lost a notification, up to now... But this should work better.

Pebble support simply tells me that the smartwatch needs a stable BT connection, and Sony tells me they can not guarantee the compatibility of their products with others.

So, who should fix this?

I'm using Bluetooth Keep alive app from play store and the link is pretty stable. You have to start it as a service first, then use the pebble app to connect the phone. If not reliable, try the two '(more reliable)' options. I'm having good success with the 'Show Connected' option selected.

I've installed Bluetooth Keep Alive but app crashes when I connect Pebble. Then, service seems to recover, but I don't know if it is doing something useful to me. Pebble is connected but app tells me only: "BTKA is awaiting for a connection"...

Let's see...
