Just got rid of the.total *beep*... Thats the 4.3 "upgrade " from my Z1 and lo and behold the.bluetooth problem that I had with my car audio (couldn't use the hands free facility) has disappeared! So I have proved that the 4.3 "upgrade" was complete and utter rubbish.. The.bluetooth stack in 4.3 was obviously a load of rubbish and was missing lots of functionality that was there in the 4.2.2 release...

GET IT SORTED NOW!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed this is not one of those forums that allow that kind of language, with that said, you have 2 options

1. Take it to a Sony repair center

or

2. use flashtool

How to manually update, downgrade, root 2013 Xperias

http://talk.sonymobile.com/thread/124152

I have downgraded the software.. as I said in my first post... What I cannot comprehend is how Sony obviously did no regression testing on this software AT ALL! Because, if.they had, the bluetooth would not have had these problems... and I, amongst others, would not have had these problems...

I did.. And they informed me that it was not their fault but it was the cars fault.. When I pointed out that it worked on 4.2.2 they did not have an answer! I still say that it is Sony fault as my car audio works with no problems with a Samsung s3 that was updated to 4.3.....

I am not attacking anyone... I am simply venting my anger/displeasure regarding the "upgrade" to 4.3. There are several people who have also reported this problem with the 4.3 upgrade and I was simply saying that by reverting back to the 4.2.2 version it now works... and hopefully letting other users who have this problem that this course of action works....

And where exactly are the Sony repair centres?

Hi,

I used flashtool to revert back to the 4.2.2 software.. Here is a link for the ftf files...

XDA - Z1

DO A BACKUP FIRST!!!! I simply copied all of my music/photos etc and backed-up my texts etc with SMS backup. Flashed the new ftf and when complete, also did a factory reset. Then copied all of my music etc back to my phone. Worked fine!

To get rid of the infomation message regarding the new .290 software, I went to the Update app in settings and cleared the data and cache. I think it may return after a restart.. not sure but I will just do the same.. ie clear data/cache.

Hope that helps!

Regards,

Alan

There is nothing we can do to change the 4.3 update... All we can hope for is for Sony to release a normal update, or just a fix to 4.3. I would be happy if they released a working 4.4 straight after 4.3.

It is really apparent that not much testing is done by Sony, but then again this is android and it's normal to have software issues. What is not normal is to be so slow with hotfixes.

Hire more engineers, developers and some new testers, maybe?

I agree... There obviously was very, very little testing done on the .290 release by Sony - if any at all. Its not just me that has had problems with this update, indeed, some people have had bluetooth issues with Sony accessories, such as headphones etc....

Sony needs to fix these bluetotth issues - and quick! I see that two later software updates to 4.3 have passed certification but have yet to be released. Hopefully they will have bug fixes in them to correct the bluetooth and all of the other isses that the .290 release had.

AND - hopefully, these issues will also be fixed in the 4.4 release!
