led/notification light for z1 PROBLEM

The LED light on my Z1 only lights up when the unit is being charged. It does not illuminate when there are new e-mails or for any of the apps which are supposed to light it. I've had the unit for about 3 weeks. I updated to Android 4.3 about a week ago. I'm fairly sure that the LED was working properly prior to the update. All the releavnt settings on the apps and "Settings" menus are set to "Yes" for notification light.

Can anyone help please?

Forgot to say - I have tried a factory reset to no avail.

Are you using stamina mode?Stamina mode disables notification lights for most of the apps.

No - all power saving modes are off.

Try one of the google play apps:

If still not working,repair phone software with sony update service.

Genius - thanks for the advice. Have done second software repair of the day and htis time did not restore from backup but first added my e-mail then tested it. Still no LED notification for new e-mail. The LED does work sometimes - it glows orange when the phone is on charge.

Then you have nothing else to do,if stamina mode is disabled.The update may have its bugs.You can go to a sony service for more information,see what they tell you.

Can't you just turn on the screen to see if you got new mails? Sorry..I was thinking out loud lmao
