SW2 Twitter Smart Extension Broken

Hi, since Jan. 14, my Twitter app stopped buzzing me for updates so I tried signing off and signing back in but it wouldn't let me anymore. It just comes up with a "Loading" screen and a toast message saying "Sign in to access Twitter," and then nothing happens. I've already tried to clear data, uninstall and reinstall the extension, with the same results. I've went as far as clearing data, uninstalling and reinstalling both Smart Connect and Twitter app just to clear if it's a host application issue or Twitter issue, but still doesn't work. I've also logged out and logged back in my Twitter account in case it's an account issue but still the same.

Please advise.

Thanks for posting as mine stopped working on 1/14 as well. I have followed much the same troubleshooting steps as you with no luck either. The same error message appears when I attempt to access the Xperia with Twitter account settings on my Z as well. At this point, I'm contemplating a factory reset on my Z.

Update - Reset the phone with no success and also noticed Twitter does not work with my SBH52 either. My money says Twitter changed something.

I've had the same problem today and I've done the same actions you have...other people on the Google+ Sony Smartwatch Community have also reported the same issue.

@jmchalmers my bet's the same as yours. The fact that you have a Z and I have a Note 2 confirms it's no firmware issue. I've read somewhere recently that Twitter did some "redesigning," I think it may have something to do with it.

@Teglas that's good to know, at least we know now we're not the only ones with this kind of issue hehehe

I'm getting the same thing. Using the Galaxy Note (original version) by the way.

Tried all the same things (uninstalling/reinstalling, etc.) but no luck.

At least I now know I'm not the only one.

I have the same problem with my Nexus 5. I have posted this issue to different german forums in hope to get an answer.

Maybe Sony can give us some help 😉

I also am experiencing this issue - Help Sony...! Ive tried uploading the latest firmware on my SW2 via Sony Mobile Update Service - suddently stopped functioning on the 14 Jan 14. As with others, uninstalled / reinstalled the app extension, even tried removing my Twitter app too and reinstalling, to ensure my account on my S3Mini was re-configured. Still no joy.....!

Would be great if we could get a response from Sony - are they aware of the issue?

As a prior poster mentioned it could be something at Twitter's end as there has been no update to the Sony app since early December. I use this app a lot and while I can use app's like Watchit to a certain extent it doesn't have the same functionality as this one. I'm hoping we get an update on the issue soon.

Well I hope they are watching these forums. The Twitter and Facebook app is why I use this over my Pebble.... I too hope it gets fixed soon.

I'm reversing my rating for the app in the Play Store for the mean time to 1 star. This needs to get fixed, in the meantime I'm trying 3rd party apps (Watchit)

Ei guys, it looks like an update is available at the Play Store. I'm gonna try this out in a bit, hope it's the solution to this problem.

It works! However, it looks like they will need to release another update for Xperia with Twitter as that functionality still has the same issue.

Just tried it out and yup, things are back to normal. Alright guys, ver. 1.2.1 update should get you back on your feet. For the Xperia guys, looks like you're gonna hang on a bit.

Yep, Happy to report that the update in the play store appears to have solved the issue.

Back to receiving twitter updates, so a happy chappy today !
