topic SBH50 Activate display on new track/song? in XPERIA archive

I just got my hands on a SBH50 and paired it with a Nexus 7 2013. I'm extremely pleased with it so far since it pretty does almost everything I'm using it for: display of track information (artiste name and song title) and track control (play, pause, skip backward and forward).

However, to see the track information, I need to manually activate the display each time by pressing any button on the device. I'm wondering whether there was a way for the headset to automatically turn on the display each time a new song is being played and keep it on for a short duration (e.g. 10 seconds)?

I understand that what I'm looking for isn't a built-in feature, so I started exploring other avenues, such as the Sony Add-Ons SDK with the hope of developing a Smart Extension to achieve this intent. Unfortunately, it appears that the required API to activate the display falls under the Control API, which is only available for the SmartWatch devices or the older MW1 (Sony Wireless Headset Pro) and not the SBH50/52. This is rather depressing since the device should be perfectly capable of interfacing with the Control API.
