Unable to connect to Sony Select after 4.3 upgrade

Hi all,

I just upgraded to 4.3 and tried to download new themes by going to Settings - Personalisation - Themes and then tapping the +.

Was directed to Sony Select but the error msg popped up saying 'No network connection'. This despite me being tapped onto Wifi. Same error occurs even in LTE connection. My data connection is fine, no problem with other apps like Facebook, twitter, browser etc.

Anyone else experiencing same prob and how to solve it? Is it a prob with Sony server or do I have to factory reset / repair my phone? The new themes are the main reason for my upgrade so to not be able to access Sony Select to d/l it is quite a bummer

.......For any case try following:

Setings>Apps>All>Sony Select and then clear cache/data+force stop+restart your phone.

After that try again.

I am facing the same problem. I have also tried repairing my phone, but sony select doesnt seem to work. Is anyone else besides us two facing the same problem? As that would clearly indicate the problem with the Sony Select.

Hi sunnychoudhry,

My Sony Select is still down with this error msg. Does yours reflect the same?

You tried a PC repair and still doesn't work? I want to verify whether PC repair solves the problem as I don't want to wipe my data for nothing.

I'm also quite sure its a problem with the Sony Select App and not the phone since the other apps work fine. Maybe not optimised for 4.3? Very frustrating as I was looking forward to the themes. 😞

Yepp i tried the repair and it didnt work . I had to reinstall the playstore apps all over again. I get the no network connection message even though i do have a working connection. It really is very frustating. The main reason for me to update the phone was to access the new themes and that seems to be the only thing which isnt working. Didnt expect this from Sony. I have seen videos on youtube where people have used sony select on android 4.3.

Lets hope the problem is resolved ASAP.

I´m facing this problem on my Xperia Z1 AND the Xperia Tablet Z with the 4.3 update.

Let me say that two days ago i was able to download a theme on my Tablet Z over Sony Select - but now it doesn´t work anymore.

What happend?

Well, of what i can come up with is that most like the sony select service is temporarily down. I hope it starts working soon. It had to happen the day i decided to update and was really looking forward to using the themes

I checked using my sister's Z1. She has not updated to 4.3 but is able to access Sony Select. I hope the problem with 4.3 is resolved soon. Sony, please look into it!!

They dont even have a message up stating wether the system is under goin maintenance and no one from SONY has responded.

on 19 Dec I upgraded to 4.3 and managed to download a theme, but as of 22 Dec am having this problem

I have the same problem. I am using Xperia Z.

I do have the same problem.. I am kinda relieved when I noticed that it's not only me.. But I am very disappointed sine I did the whole manual update yesterday for more than 2 hours to just apply new themes and look what we got 😞

The sony select is not working even though i am still on 4.2.2. I guss its their server problem

Hi,

I have Xperia Z, just got updated to 4.3. After update i tried to add camera apps(new in 4.3) , which further launches Sony Select.

I am connected to my home wi-fi, but it says "No network connection. Please try again later." (inside Sony Select app)
tried using my 3G connection but got same prompt "No network connection. Please try again later."

While doing the two above steps my phone was connected to internet as i was able to access play store as well as facebook.

Then i tried to launch Sony Select directly from menu(first with wi-fi then with 3G connected), got same result "No network connection. Please try again later"
this time also play store
