I am unable to update software of my phone xperia z 1 on mac.

new Z1s from T-mobil will not connect to sony bridge for mac software. software installs fine on mac. phone knows it's connected to a computer. was online with sony for 2 hours! no help they said call t-mobil tech support ! really.

leaving town in 2 days need things off my mac help

Which OS do you have?

Are you using a different micro USB cable or Sony's?

have tried sony and a nokia cable

the phone says it's internal memory is connected. not a cable issue

btw I also can't connect my z1s to my mac, so I feel your pain. Sony simply didn't test as much as they should have.

One post its more than enough, do you have a firewall or antivirus that might be blocking bridge? I have the Xperia Z1 and Z and they connect fine

I do not have a firewall or antivirius installed on my computer and I run OSX version 10.9.1

I'm using Sony Bridge for Mac and it will not even recognize the phone.

My Mac is running IOS 10.9.1 with all the latest updates for ITUNES and IPHOTO.

Any idea why it won't even find the phone? I tried following all the instructions provided but no success.

I've got the same issue guys, brand new Z1s and 13" macbook pro. I've tried restarting, changing cables, and switching from MTP to MSC in USB connection mode. I'm able to transfer files using finder just fine, but the sony bridge for mac application seems to be utterly broken. I updated it to the latest version, uninstalled and reinstalled it, nothing.

It's sad that this issue exists. What makes it worse is if an fix for an issue with our phones comes out, and is not sent as an OTA update, we're screwed. I shouldn't have to take time out of my day to bring my phone to a t-mobile store and ask for an exchange for an issue that can be fixed on my own computer. This is obviously a known issue, and nothing is done to fix it, or even fully acknowledge it. This phone is heavily advertized, and is going to become somewhat popular because of it's capabilities. It's advertized on PS3 and PS4 menus. For an operating system, that's fully up to date, to not recgonize a device is silly.

Bridge and Mac OSX 10.9 compatibility issues?

I've have my Xperia Z1S for about just over a week now, love the phone, but I noticed this it doesn't get recgonized by the bridge program. I am able to transfer files using the program "Android File Transfer" but the bridge program will not recgonze my device. I don't mind using the other application, but the issue will show it's face when a phone update is provided in the future. If the update isn't issued through an OTA update, and needs to be downloaded directly to the phone, I'll have no luck because the software that's designed for the device will not recgonize the device. This issue is discussed a few times in the Z1 board, but I figured I'd bring it up here, seeing as it's a software board.

I received a notification that my phone needs updating and that I can only update it on my computer. I downloaded Sony Bridge for Mac in order to do that and it launches and recognizes the device just fine. when I begin the update however, I get an error message saying that the update failed (reason: failed to parse Installer XML (code11))

This issue has been brought up on this forum a few times now and we never get a straight answer. I for exampled am running OSX 10.9.1, no firewalls set up or antivirus. Java is up to date along with flash and every other program on my computer and Bridge still doesn't recgonize my phone. Is there a direct contact email for Bridge support? Seems like nobody can explain why this doesn't work.
