I have the Roxfit book case which i think its the one you are talking about, its a genuine one not bought off eBay and I shut the case when the screen is not locked and having just tested it the screen goes off as normal after its set timeout period.

My phone does not freeze or act in any other way than it normally would with or without the case.

I have had several occasions now where my phone is freezing. I think the problem is caused by the flip case. It seems that if you don't lock the phone before closing the flap that the phone thinks it's screen is being touched. When i open the flap the quick settIngs / notification bar has been opened and the phone seems to have frozen or like its trying to catch up with multiple presses.

Anyone else had anything like this?

I think you had answered your own question, you should lock the screen before you close the cover

Case removed and I have had several occasions now that when I get a call it answers it while in my pocket.

Defo think there are issues with the sensor although the built in diagnostic app says there is not.

if you receive a phonecall and the screen its facing your leg instead of away from your leg, it might unlock the screen and/or answer calls
