The pairing code is usually found by starting the Youtube app on the TV and then go to Settings -> Pair device or similar in the Youtube app on the TV. If you don't have this option on your TV i would recommend that you post this question on the support forum for the TV instead. You can find it here: http://community.sony-europe.com/t5/custom/page/page-id/CountrySelector.

I checked the specifications for your TV but it doesn't say anything about support for screen mirroring so i'm not sure if it supports it. It does however support DLNA so you can share content stored in your phone using WiFi. See this thread for more information on DLNA: http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/DLNA/m-p/351822

I cannot.seem to find the pairing code on my kdl40nx723.

Screen mirroring seems a joke, none effective.

Sony online.don't seem to help, been to the.Sony shop and they could not help. The guy started talking.about bluetooth.

Surely this.should be.much easier.

No one at Sony wants to tell me.why it was.easier.to set up a Samsung tv.

Hello

Thank you

I will have to look at this when I get a chance.

Its amusing that I'm also talking to Sony Support with regards to this query, yet all they do is confirm what I already know.

I know I can search for YouTube via the TV remote, but theres something just a little more convenient to sitting on the sofa and using your mobile phone to play the music. Not to mention a little easier.

I find it hard to beleive a TV that is only 2 years old is out of date already.

I wish Sony would just at least acknowledge the issue I have is because it cannot work the way the phones are setup, rather than give me solutions that do not really function that well.

I will check the links when I'm free next and report back. Sony have given me some more things to check passwords to setup and codes to punch in, surely sony could send out an update for this tv so it could bypass the pairing code and link automatically.

Hi

Overall your information im sure was helpful, but its just lead me to just another wrath on information to read and take in on what should in thoery be a very simple task - thats what everyone keeps telling me.

I received another email from Sony today. This whole process seems overly complicated and tiresome, the fact that the phone should have a simple menu that allows you to share content on your phone to the TV.

Pictures are fine, its very slow but I can manage that. Videos are hit or miss......It seems the stock movies can be 'Throw' onto the screen but real films will not play. Not that its a feature I will probably use, the storage on the phone is not large enough to take a movie, so I will leave that.

The TV is just two years old and out of date already.

YouTube was something I was looking forward to. I can use the phone as a TV remote, but Sony are suggesting I use the sluggish connection from the tv to search for music. Thats fine on your own, but with freinds around you want something a little quicker and easier to use.

Its a shame the phone just will not sync, and if it did once you walk away from the TV come back the next day you seem to need to repeat the settings.

I guess the next step would be to take the TV to the shop and ask someone to show me, or see if there is anyone available to come around and solve the issue.

Its turning into an obbession now, something I can live without but would equally like to know how it all works.

Thank you

What videos you can throw depends on what video formats the TV supports. I found this list over what formats your TV supports over DLNA (Throw) and USB: http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/support-info.pl?info_id=797&mdl=KDL46NX723

As for Youtube i checked the manual for your TV but i can't find any mention of Youtube in the manual. In order to use the send to TV feature in Youtubes app the TV needs to have a Youtube app as well that also supports pairing with your Google account. It sounds like you may be right about your TV not supporting this but i can't say for sure.

Perhaps our IM10 could be an alternative? You connect it with HDMI to your TV and then you use Screen Mirroring (Miracast) in the phone to mirror the phones display and sound.

See this link for more information: http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/products/accessories/miracast-wireless-display-im10/
