Contacts search problem

Cannot find some contacts both in general list by alphabet and using search. However, these contacts are properly recognised when calling or receiving calls. Also some of the missing contacts could be found in group views only. All contacts were synced (imported) from google account and all latest updates are installed (Android 4.3). Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Sounds like you have a filter in your contact application. Go to contacts > menu button > filter and go through the different filter settings.

I am having same problem in xperia c. Filter setting does not work for it. I tried to search by typing acurate names and found highlighted contact after atleast 20 contacts. It is a big problem. Sony care should try it themselve and give a solution for it without wasting our time on searching in the forum.......

Have you checked your filter options as mentioned above?

When I seach for a contact to dial his number, first I have to minimize the keypad before dialing. This is just annoying.
