Hello everyone,

I have a xperia sp phone. Everything was perfect until last month. My camera begun capture blurry and unfocused photos. When i called support centre, they answered me"you should repair your device by using Sony PC Companion" and I did. But, nothing had changed.

Here some example of photos that I took with my xperia sp device;

Thanks for help!

I've been having the same problem and this is what had improved things slightly:

First, i've installed the Galaxy camera ROM and the focus has improved a bit but clarity was still very bad. Then the service store has cleaned the glass a bit with compressed air can and it gave some clarity back too.

They will take my phone in to get the glass of the camera polished as it looks "discolored".

Also I hope the update will help. Please let us know what solves your problem.

That is not a focus problem, it is a lens problem, check your lens it had become redish( a layer of red color) please clean your lens with lens cleaner or nail polish remover, rub thoroughly with soft cloth. It will solve your problem.

I have just experienced exactly the same problem on my (new, by the way) SP. 2 days ago I was able to take sharp pictures and today... all was blurry. After googling the issue with no answer I tried something that we call in Poland a "Russian fixing method".I just punched my phone with a moderate/light force and it has helped. So in my case it was, or actually still might be, a hardware problem and my solution is rather temporal.

However that concludes that the piezo stack or whatever moves the lense just stucked in same (extreme/out of range I'd say) pozition and couldn't go back to a regular ranges.

Sony forgot to remove the blue coating from the camera lens..this coating makes the photos bcome blur, noisy, defocus etc..I clear the camera lenses outside coating via toothbrush..
cleared the inside of lense via laptop screen cleaning kit..
and now my sp takes awesome photos..less noise, less focus issues..

Same issue here. As of an update of a few weeks/months ago, I have to take 2 pictures in a row to get a sharp picture. Everyone I know with a sony phone has this exact same problem.

Software update caused it, software update should fix it, I've been waiting quite a while for the update to arrive, but sony doesn't seem to know they broke the camera program with it's latest update (the one that added the camera to the lockscreen thingie)

I have NEW O2 and Orange versions and the cameras are rubbish on both. Also, Orange phone oporates much faster than the O2 which is VERY laggy. I think think this phone is inherently flawed and Sony have given up support.

This appears to be a everyones problem who owns xperia SP. As I have noticed that this issue started after some recent updates of firmwares.

Me also faced same problem , Now My problem solved , It was coz of Dust layer formed in Lens , Watch ur Lens at Backside of ur phone . You can able to see Small scratches like Layer in lens,
Solution :

Apply Small amount of LCD monitor Cleaner or Nail polish remover or water at lens ,

Leave it for 2 -3 Mins ,

Now Take a rough cloth and rub Hardly until the Scratch layer Peel off

Now your Phone is Ready 😉
