Xperia SL mic problem

Hi,
My Xperia SL's mic is not working while making phone calls for last few weeks. It can record audio in recorder app, but it does not work on call. I have to always use headset for calls which is annoying. Is anyone else also facing this situation? Any solution? It does not look like a hardware problem to me, but do I need to take it to Sony Service Center?

I downloaded the diagnostic app. Microphone test fails for low volume sounds like my own, but is successful for loud sounds like 75-100 units of volume from my laptop.

Have you checked so that there's no dust or dirt in the phones microphones? You can see their location on page 8 in the manual: http://www-support-downloads.sonymobile.com/lt26ii/userguide_EN_LT26ii_1_Android4.1.pdf.

If it's not dust or dirt causing the problem i recommend that you contact a service location or local Sony Xperia support (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/) for assistance.
