Thanks Sony

You have addressed many of the issues and the watch definitely feels snappier to me.

Yes, there are still more things we users would like to do with our watches and hope to see in a future update.

However, you could have acknowledged your users and said, yes, we're working on updates; this would have gone a long way to maintaining your image.

It seemed like you didn't even care that your users were not satisfied...

But it was a very pleasant surprise to receive the update nonetheless.

Q. Have you updated the API's? If not, do you have plans to?

Thanks

This update is GREAT.
The watch performs a lot faster now.
The change in watchfaces is a good first step. Would love to see them customizable in the near future. What I would wish for is to see the number of the actual week e.g.
So please go on Sony. You are on the right way.

I had been expecting this update since I bought the SW2, and while I appreciate the effort, I can't help feeling disappointed.

First, when I purchased the watch, I was floored when I saw the digital + date watch had been removed, along with a bunch of other previously advertised features.

The features I could live without, but that watch face being missing really bothered me.

When I saw the update I rejoiced thinking I'd finally get what I had intended to buy in the first place.

I couldn't believe my eyes when I actually saw the new watch face, and saw that after all the attention that has been put to the watch's aesthetics, somehow Sony put out a watch face in which the actual time takes less than half the width of the watch's face.

I mean, was it that hard to do something like this?

Now it's back to the waiting game until the next update, if there ever is one.

I installed the update through SUS to my SW2. Now the SW2 is stuck on the screen that shows a white bar. My phone indicates that an update is being downloaded to the SW2 (which seems like nonsense to me, seeing that I already have the latest version on it).

I rebooted both devices several times. I removed and re-installed the smart connect and smartwatch2 apps. Nothing helps.

The SW2 worked fine before I installed the latest update. Does anyone have any idea how to get this going again? Would be highly appreciated.

check your phone and if the watch is paired then unpair or remove and then try the repair - I've seen a member report an issue which was resolved after he unpaired and ran the repair

Thommo, I'm sorry but I don't understand. How can the SW2 and my phone be paired when I have to switch off the SW2 before running the update through SUS?

I assume that by "repair" you mean (re-)installing the update/firmware? Or do you mean something else?

By the way. When I tap about I see accessory version 0.0.B.0.25. That can't be right, can it? Also, when I tap update accessory, nothing happens. Host application version is 1.3.17.

Thommo, this time I removed the smart connect and smartwatch2 apps from my phone, switched off my phone and then the SW2.

Then I opened SUS and followed instructions. It said that the latest version was already on my SW2, but I installed it anyway.

Then I booted both the SW2 and my phone.

The SW2 showed the screen with the "moving" vertical bars. I ticked the backs of both devices together and waited for the bars to change into a tick mark.

I again ticked the backs together and my phone took me to Google Play to install smart connect. Which I did.

I ticked again and now my phone told me to install the smartwatch2 app. Which I did.

So far so good.

The screen showed the picture of the SW2 and a smartphone with an arrow in between pointing to the phone. So I ticked the backs again.

Now the black screen with the white bar is back. My phone tells me that it's downloading an update. Same as before.

What am I doing wrong?

Edit 1: I removed all extensions I had downloaded before from my phone. No improvement.

<STRIKE>Edit 2: I went into the Bluetooth section of my phone and tried to undo the connection (or whatever that's called in English). I couldn't. There is no way to undo the connection.</STRIKE> Scratch that. It worked.

Edit 3: When I first bought the SW2 - a little bit over 1 week ago - it took forever to startup. I read somewhere in this forum that I should update the firmware, so I did. It then took forever again to boot. But after several hours and reboots and I don't exactly remember what else it finally booted. Then too I was presented with the black screen with white bar. Does that tell us anything?
