The videos work fine on the phone but can not be played on the PC; you are likely just missing the correct codec’s to play the format. Please try downloading VLC Player for your PC and see if the files will play with that.

When I transfer my videos to my laptop they will no longer play, I tried putting it back on the phone and I can no longer watch it on the phone either. I didn't have this problem until approx 2 weeks ago.

Can someone please tell me why/what has changed as I have now lost a very sentimental video!

I suspect that this is a Media transfer mode (MTP) issue. If possible you, can try to transfer your videos to a SD-card and change the USB connection mode to Mass storage mode (MSC) via Settings > Xperia > USB Connectivity > USB Connection mode > MSC to see if the videos are getting corrupt or similar.

Sorry for the late reply. I didnt realise you had responded! It has now happened yet again 😞

The format is MP4 video, i cant find anwhere to find out the resolution of them.

I also have another problem now there is a problem with 13 pictures which no longer exist on my phone! They are showing if you search via laptop but cant find them on actual phone. When i try to delete them it says they arent there to delete. (Hope this makes sense!)

The images and videos are all stored on the internal memory. Once again my videos when transfered to laptop arent playing. This seems to be a intermitten problem. Luckily this time i remembered not to deleted them once imported.

I hopefully will get an email when someone replies to this as i didnt realise i had to tick a box i thought it automatically happened!
