Xperia SP keyboard input and volume key problems

After updating my Xperia SP with the latest Android 4.3, I am unable to change my keyboard input method. Whenever I select it, the phone will restart immediately. I have restarted my phone numerous times but the problem remains. I have also selected 'repair' on the PC Companion but it claimed that there was no problem to be repaired.

Another problem that has surfaced is the volume. Whenever I use the volume keys, all that appears on the screen is this small rectangular box that does not indicate the volume level.

Please advise on this matter, thanks!

You can try to reinstall firmware and for volume problem, change default theme and restart your phone. Then you can use other themes without this problem.

Tyr repair your phone by sus..

For volume indicater switchto default theme and reboot

Thank you both for your help; there was no need to reinstall the firmware nor repair the system...I just changed it to the default xperia theme and restarted - and both the problems were gone!

My problem is a bit different with you , my volume in handsfree is ok but after I unplug the handsfree the whole my volumes gone . is there any soloution for it ?

Have you tried clearing data for smart connect in settings-apps-all?
