Screen won't let me unlock

Hi, I can't unlock my phone, it isn't recognising me touching the screen. I have turned it off using the power button and volume button and have also removed the sim but it still isn't responding. Any suggestions??? I have some texts and e-mails but can't access them?

I can only advise trying a software repair so that we can at least rule out a potential software issue:

1. Download the PC Companion software from http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/
and install it on your PC.
2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.
3. Phone Software Update.
4. Start.
5. Repair Phone
6. Continue
7. Accept data removal
8. Next
9. Wait for prepare
10. Select Phone
11. Follow the connection steps

I have struggled all day and I still can't access my phone. I wish I had never upgraded it, big mistake

Can you elaborate please, do you have a lock on your handset, have you run the repair as above?

Hi i have a sony xperia x10i and it will switch on and light up but when i swipe across to unlock it does not respond and nothing on the screen will respond but the time will change and notifications will come up and nothing will work when i tap screen i already tryed the pc download but it says half way through i need to pull notification bar down but i cant cause it wont respond if anyone has any ideas on how to help i will be grateful thanks
