Hi,
If I email from my Z1 phone, it does successfully reach a recipient. However, the same message keeps sending and there are at least 30 same email messages in my sent box although the mail was sent only once (the recipient receives only one email). It would be great if anyone could help me...

It sounds like you might have some problems with the outgoing (SMTP) server. You'll find information about how to check it in our email FAQ topic:

http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/FAQ/E-mail-and-Exchange-Active-Sync/m-p/347964#U347964

You could also try to clear data for the email application under settings > apps > all > email > clear data. Restart your phone and add you email account and try again.

If you need more help, please elaborate which type of email account it is (POP3, IMAP or Exchange ActiveSync).

With Hotmail, it would be worth trying out their own application as below to see if the problem continues:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.outlook.Z7

I'm also facing the same. Why don't you just resolve it and get your users life? Trust me it's quite annoying. It's become impossible to search any email on my hotmail/outlook. Do resolve this on priority otherwise take your phone back and give my money back!

I Googled around a bit and it seems like Microsoft have had some general issues with the email settings for POP3.

You can try to clear data for e-mail under settings > apps > all > email > clear data. Restart your phone and try to configure the email account again.

I would also want to suggest you to use Microsoft's Outlook (and Hotmail) Android application for managing emails. You'll find it on Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.outlook.Z7

I have a Sony Xperia T and I have always used my phone's email software to view emails from my Hotmail and Gmail accounts. I am just now experiencing the problem with duplicate items appearing in the respective sent folders after sending a single email from my phone.

I updated the Sony Xperia T upgrade three days ago and noticed that I was having issues since the upgrade (i.e. new emails would not appear on the phone, although the new email indicator count was increasing). So I removed my Hotmail account and re-added it yesterday, and I have been having the problem of duplicate sent items ever since.

I also tried sending emails from my Gmail account through the same phone email software and noticed duplicate items were also appearing in my Gmail Sent folder as well. After conducting a few tests, I appears as though the phone's email software is the problem. I do not have this problem when sending emails from this same Gmail account using my phone via the Gmail application.

I Googled this issue and found that other Samsung users have been experiencing the same issue.

I noticed that duplicates are created every single time the phone refreshes/syncs the email account (manually or automatically, depending on how you have this set up or how often you press the refresh button). I tried removing and reinstalling my email account, and tried the Manual installation option but keep getting error messages, which prevents me from completing the activation process.

As I have not found a solution to this recent problem, I removed my Homail and Gmail accounts from the phone's email software. I am currently using the Hotmail mobile application as suggested, which allows me to manage my emails in the same way as through Web. But what I liked about the phone email software was that I got a notification when an email comes through my Inbox.

Is there any way I can get notification of incoming emails from the Hotmail mobile application?

Are you aware of any patches or updates coming out to address the phone's email software issues?

Thanks.

I have just upgrade to a Sony Xperia Z3 compact which is a fantastic phone. BUT I am having the same issues with email.

If I send an email it says it is not sent then it sends 30 times.

After reading this I have disabled my hotmail and I will try to use the app.

Sony you need to fix this bug and run an update.

Thanks
