Experia ZL Shutdown by itself with SIM card logo problem (Battery sould ok)

Hi everybody,

I bought an Experia ZL 5month ago without any proplems, geat phone until last thursday.

I watched a video on youtube when the phone suddenly shut off (black screen juste like turning off the phone with the center switch) battery was close 20% at this time.

After charging & starting the phone, I got the same problem when the battery shows 84%.

Now I try to power up the phone, Sony logo appears but immediatly shuf off, sometimes I can reach the experia logo but I just can't start the machine.

With the charger connected I can re open the phone normally, once done, I have something like 5 minute of use, SIM failure logo appear on the top then comesback normal. Looks shorted battery but meter show correct battery...

That phone never see any water and just one drop on my rubered truck floor. I use it for buisness.

O yes!

After calling Sony technician that ask me to reset the phone, I doo compleete formatting but the same thing occur.

Now my phone is blank

Does it happen when the SIM card its not inserted?

mine was also same problem, have done all things reseted and formated still same issues, i have sent it to service center they replaced it with new one..99% it can be battery issues,this problem camed on my phone after just 1 month of purchase, can you tell me what manufacture date is there on your xperia zl ?? mine was march month manufacturing dated.

Sometimes iit is the SIM card but it could be like in your case, a hardware issue.

Hi. I just want to share my experience with my ZL device:

I’m from the Philippines. I've got an Xperia ZL. I've been using it for almost 1 month. Then suddenly, while using the Camera360 app, the display just went blank and the phone stopped functioning. It’s dead or asleep. I pressed the power key many times, but the phone did not resuscitate. I also held down the off button on the back. No response. Of course, I tried holding down both the power and volume-up keys. The phone would vibrate and sometimes would start booting, with the “Sony” logo (and sometimes the “Xperia”) appearing, only to go blank again. I plugged in the charger. It’s not charging. It came to life the next day when I pressed it on, after many attempts. But only for a short time. It will go dead again. And the cycle will continue. It will come to life as it pleases, then go dead again. It’s been four days now. And recently, the past two days, the phone will not awake on its own by me just pressing and pressing on the power keys. I need to charge it. And when the light indicator is flashing, that’s an indicator that probably there’s a chance it will awake. When the phone awakes, it’s only once or twice a day for very short, limited times (an hour or two). And when the phone awakes, the SIM card signal/reception fluctuates. There will be a point in time that there’s no signal. Which wasn’t the case before this glitch.

I'm currently researching on ways to remedy or solve this glitch. I want to exhaust all available information before turning my phone in to the Service Center. I don't like the idea of waiting for 1 week to get my phone repaired.

I'm also got this problem,but on my xperia z. It's shutdown itself and won't turn on.the only solution is to plug in charger and booting.but when I use the phone while charging, the no sim and coverage indicator popup randomly.and if I disconnect the charger, my phone will shutdown itself less than a minutes and cannot turn on unless I plug in charger back. I already refashioned the firmware as my phone is rooted and unlocked bootloader.so service center is not the solution as my warranty is alreany void.please help me.
