Hi guys,

I m facing problem while using 8gb micro sdhc card. phone just switches of whenever i insert the sd card and i hv to remove the battery and restart the phone again. Phone just keep on restarting itself and whatever i store in the card get currupted.

please help me in solving this problem

Is this a new card or one that came with the phone? Have you formatted it/re-formatted it? Can it be read in your PC with a card reader adaptor?

Heey!

I am suffering exactly the same issue!

I have android 2.1. I changed the 2GB SD card that came with the phone and I am trying to install a 8 GB SDHC but it behaves exactly as described. Phone switches off itself, SD card gets corrupted etc..just could make my phone stable again by using my old 2G card.

What is going on here?

Having the same problem here with my new 4GB Micro SDHC. ¬¬ Put the 2GB that came with the phone and just works like nothing happened..... HELP

Thanks for the help.

Main problem was with the SD card i bought, after using the new card everything is working fine.

Hi, I've got a similar problem: I just bought a Kingston micro SDHC 8GB but it doesn't work well on my X10 mini pro. When I take a picture the phone apparently writes to the SDHC card but gives an error when I try to visualize the photo. It works well when doing a read-only operation (listening to music).

I have formatted (FAT32) the SDHC card with my notebook (WinXP) and on the phone too, but the error remains. My phone firmware is up to date (2.1-update1). Any ideas?

I also got problems. When I take pictures the files are broken and so on. Also the phone reboots itself and so on.

I researched on the net and it looks like the problem is with Class 4 cards and X10 Mini/pro hardware.

I think it is hardware problems. So sending it to repair may help or maybe not if it is software/firmware problems.

Can you please try to put a different SD card in your phone? If possible, a card from a different make.

Also, what kind of SD card are you using right now? (Sandisk, Kingston etc..?)

I use Kingston 8gb Class 4 and it do not work. I tried it on my friends and it worked. Also I tried my friends Sandisk 4gb class 4 card and it did not work too. Then I tried my other friends Sandisk 4gb class 6 card and it worked. I have also tried Kingston 4gb Class 6 card and it also worked. My original card is 2gb class 2 card and it also works.

So I have problems with class 4 cards all other class cards do work. Hope that is helpful

And BTW right now I'm using the standard sd card that I got with my phone. It is 2gb and class 2.

Thank you for this feedback - really is helping!

We're currently rolling our a new software for our Xperia X10 and I've just been told that there are some changes in this software regarding SD cards and the compatibility issues with some cards.

I don't know if the software is available for you right now (depends on market and customizations) or if this will solve the issue but I believe it to be a good thing to test.

Start PC Companion (www.sonyericsson.com/pccompanion) and click on Support Zone > Update. PC Companion will tell you if there's a new software available.

If the software is not available yet, please wait for it.

And once the update has been installed - please let me know if this solved your issue!

Hi,

I have just upgraded my phone yesterday night, and somehow this morning my phone is having errors.

First off, the phone could not detect the original SD card which came with the phone when I bought it. It is having, 'Preparing SD card. Checking for errors.' now. I have tried to take the SD card off and put it in again, just in case it was actually physically unmounted due to being jarred while it's in my bag in a crowded train or something like that. The error still continue to exist.

Secondly, my phone crashed. For the first time since I bought it 4 months ago, the phone black out. I thought it was just being slow as usual; but when the normal method to activate it didn't work, I have to restart it by pressing the On/Off and Home button at the same time. Then it started up again. But the SD card error still persist.

Please advise me on what to do regarding the SD card. I am not technologically savvy so please be patient with me and forgive me if I'm using the wrong words to describe my problem.

Go to Settings > About phone and scroll to the bottom to find this.

So you have updated to the latest version but the problem still persist?

Since you have more problems (on/off) that the SD card thing and a software update obviously did not help, I suggest you contact your dealer and ask them to send your phone to a repair center so we can investigate this more thorough and fix this for you.

I have another problem - it's also related to "SD unmount".

I can format my 8g SD card, the reported "Total space" is 7.40G. when I copy a large file (700M) to SD card (with companion 2.0 or direct folder drag/drop), the file transfer stopped at about 600m, then the blue message board appears - the card is unmounted.

I tried with my 2g card. it was no problem taking same file.

any ideas?
