Hi!

When I plug in any headset or headphone to my XperiaJ they are NOT DETECTED by the device. I have configured "Smart Connect" in such a way that walkman should start when plugging in earphones(or the headset) and so on. When I plug in the earphones "Smart Connect" doesn't react. However, this is not a problem with this app as the earphones aren't detected when starting the radio app. In this app earphones are required to have radio reception. Instead, I get an error message: "Please connect earphones..."

Restarting my Xperia while leaving the earphones plugged in DOES resolve the issue. Nonetheless, another restart ist necassary when unplugging the earphones. So, this is quite annoying.

Is there a solution to my problem? As the connection works after a restart I think issues with jack socket (thus: hardware issues) can be ruled out, it seems that there is nothing "broken". So, I suspect rather some OS problems (my build number is 11.2.A.0.31; no updates available).

In advance, thanks for your help

Usually I use the originally supplied Sony headset and some other "standard" Sony earphones (although I don't know whether the ladder is compatible with the Xperia device).

Anyway, I figured out the code to some sort of service menu (code: *#*#7378423#*#*) where hardware tests can be run. Without any headphone being plugged in I still could hear the sounds when running earphone tests. In addition, I tried to clean the jack socket (no chemicals, just brushing).

Result: Plugging in the headset works much better now, very rarely the headphones are not detected but overall i'm quite satisfied now. Still, it remains hidden if cleaning the jack or performing the hardware tests were the "solution" to my problem. I'm not convinced that I really solved the problem.

For the moment, I suspect a "loose connection" (as english is not my mother tongue I don't know whether this ist the correct translation. "short in"? "dodgy contact"? "insulate contact"?). I'm gonna leave everything the way it is as my warranty still lasts for a long period of time...
I'm not happy but the device seems to work now.

I found some kind of solution
try to install app called headset toggler2 and read its description to see how it works
at first , headset buttons weren't working
all what you have to do is to close the mobile ,leaving the headset plugged in it and open it then use the app to adjust the phone the way you want
The most important thing is that you read the description of the app before installing it .
