hi, im having problems with my phone. my power button got lose over time and now it wont work, i cant lock/unlock the screen and i cant power off/on the phone. its just wobbly, the lights still work but its unresponsive when its pressed due to it being lose. is there a way how this can be fixed with out sending the phone in? i dont think i have worrenty anymore. i also heard that i can switch the power button with another like the search button but i cant find a way how to do that,. i also looked up stuff about bootloader, kernals and other methods but to be honest i know nothing of that. my phone is not rooted and im not very good with these type of things. is there a way how i can power up my phone without using the power button without rooting my phone? and if i need to root and all that, is there an easy step by step guide on how to that and remap the power button?

This is a hardware issue, you have 2 options

1) take it to a Sony repair center, they will tell let you know how much it will cost you

or

2) DIY, it will be a lot cheaper, you can buy the power button on ebay or other websites

would they fix it if i dont have worrenty? i had the phone repaired awhile back at some repair shop. i think the worrenty ends if the phone has been opened. buying the parts might not help, i dont have a way to open the phone

it varies per region but I think the warranty its only for 1 year and indeed if anyone else repair the phone it will void the warranty, just contact them and see if they can repair it for you

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
