My Z1 is restarting itself , after making phone calls, or after use.Firmware 534.

Hi,

I'm having the exact same issues, i've tried factory reset and reinstalling the 534 firmware.

thought it was an app so didn't install any apps and it will still reboot randomly

Yup still happens with the sim card removed. I'll be exchanging for a new one tomorrow and see what happens

happened to me for the 4th time!! usually happens when i missed someones call!! I seem to be using the hard reset buttong very OFTEN!! seriously SONY whats happening to the Z1??? now it makes me think twice about getting the PS4...

All users who are facing this problem... i have solved it.. the prob is with android 4.0+ onwards... do not pop in mem cards from other fone directly... back up your mem cards and then format via pc... pop it back in fone and let it create folders on its own.. the copy back your data be careful when u backup and restore android folder... if you have games ther are in android/obb folder.... this will sort out all restart problems...

hi frnds ok.. here is what to do

take your memory card out and copy the entire card data on hard drive and then format the card in pc with default settings. then switchoff the fone and put the card in it... it will take smtime to initialize the card at first run. have patience and let it create the suitable folders... the data u looking forward to copy is pics, vids and music files... rest stuff is there on ur fone and it will stop rebooting. DO NOT FORMAT THE CARD FROM WITHIN THE FONE... it has been seen that with android 4.0+ they do not format flawlessly....enjoy and ur rebooting problem will b over...

I got the same problem and also doesnt use any sd card in it.

I experianced it already with the first softwareversion the z1 was sold to me. Then i updated to the newest version but the phone still resets itself. I only recognize it when the phone is on the table and i can see it showing the boot up xperia logo followed by the pink wind things. What i also recognize is if the phone restarts itself i dont have to enter my pin code ! If i reset the phone myself i need to enter my pin code. When it does this AI spooky self restart i dont have to enter the pin code. If i have the phone in my pocket i didnt even recognize that it had made a restart.

I also experiance some other firmware problems wich are very annyoing f.e. the black screen problem like on the older xperia z. One day after one of his self restarts the screen just turns black/grey and get stuck. i only get arround it by plugging usb in wait 10 minutes and turn one of those optimize backlight things on. But still its my first phone where i doesnt feel safe with. I always have in mind that in the next minute something can go wrong and it will maybe kill itself. Sony should get bugfixes fast or they will not sell many high priced phones in the future.... i still remember the nokia n97 the end of nokia for a looong time exactly because of many many bugs and problems wich could have been avoided with proper beta testing.

Hi,

I bought my Xperia Z1 just 3 days ago and I am noticing the exact same problem...My phone restarts by itself when I'm in the middle of a game or movie or even when I'm just browsing..

Gave it to Sony Center In my country and they said it's OS fault and re-installed it. Yet, the issue is occuring.

Please request soem advice as to what has to be done.....

Will Sony take this and give a new device???
