Hi,

Can someone please clarify something for me.

This is under Settings/Sound, under the System heading, under Notification Sound.

I was looking for a way to disable the phone from making a loud sound everytime I held the power button when I want to turn the phone off (late at night, when my girlfriend's already fallen asleep in bed).

I found a suggestion somewhere to go to this setting and change this Notification Sound setting to "None", and I did that, and that seems to have fixed the issue - I no longer get the sound when I long-press the power button.

However, this seems to have switched off the notification sound for other apps which don't have their own setting - one app I noticed this with is Google Keep.

When I get a reminder from Google Keep now, the phone vibrates and displays the notification, but doesn't make a sound (and it used to before).

So I'm wondering if what I did to turn off the long-press on the power button sound is right, or if there's a different way?

It seems that by turning that global notification sound setting to "none", I've switched it off for other things too, which is less than ideal.

Any advice appreciated,

Thanks.

Download quick settings > sound > system volume > off

also you don't have to turn off your phone, just set it to airplane mode, it will turn off all radios.
