Hello Sony, it seems preinstalled wallpapers are not as nice as on Z. I miss the one with the grass from Z and S models. Is it possible to bring it back?

You can get those pictures from your other Xperias and transfer them to your Xperia Z1 or download those wallpapers from the XDA forum

Wjat is the location of stock wallpapers? Never was able to see it as a file that I would be able to move.

Those wallpapers are system files.

Using any file browser > system > etc > customization > content > com > sonyericsson > wallpaper picker > walpapers ..

No, you won't need root to copy them. (You can clearly read them without rooting, right? You jsut can't change them.)

You can use your favourite filebrowser and just copy/share them, for example Ghost Commander. (Available for free in Play or F-Droid).

I've just tried to copy by Ghost Commander. ACCESS DENIED, no files copied.

You've copied files "from", I think. Sure, without any problems. But I can't copy it into: system > etc > customization > content > com > sonyericsson > wallpaper picker > walpapers

You can't copy to that location because those are system files. You will have to root your phone in order to do that.

I don't get it now - you actually can copy the wallpapers from Z (or download them, whatever), but to set them as wallpapers on the Z1, first you want to copy them over the system folder... why? Can't you just put them in any other folder and set them as wallpapers like any other image? No, really, I think I am missing something here.

What was the problem again?

Live wallpapers are apps (apk-files) so you need to install them in the phone.

I haven't tested this but i think if you copy them to any folder on the SD-card or device memory and then install them by selecting them in a file manager it should work. Note that unknown sources must be enabled under Settings -> Security if you are to install apps from SD-card or device memory.
