Force / alternate update solution

I have the C6833 and a new update is available, but my phone or the PC companion doesn't find it. I know it may have to do with country your in. Any way around this? Manual download and update on phone maybe?

I was hopping for not rooting... more over down load the official release firmware and use the SD card and update or the PC somehow.

Try uninstalling the PC Companion first. Then install again.

Updates are happening gradually. Country or specific SI number, reinstating pc companion won't make any difference. To force/manual update you would need some one to make and upload ftf file so you could flash it using third party app called flashtool. The link uliwooly provided has number of ftf's but there isn't new ftf with latest firmware for Xperia Z ultra just yet.

use the sus software for checking updates. the latest update was not showing for me in the pc companion for me too. but it showed in the sus.

I ran the software... however it says I am up to date. I really can't wait to get this new update on my phone. Especially for battery optimization!

Did you do anything else to get it to find the recently released update? SUS and my phone won't let me still.

Well, I've had few annoying bugs with flickering lock screen widgets so I went for manual update using flashtool, I've noticed few other important improvements speaker is now better and latest firmware has newer ES3 v45 driver revision which I was waiting for. You could always manual update your device but make sure you using right .ftf for your model. You have instructions with the link Uliwooly provided, as for ftf you could look on xda
