Sony Xpera Miro

I have had my xperia miro since November 2012 and had nothing but bother with it since January 2013. Phone worked a treat at first, now it constantly freezes, when im sending texts it takes a lifetime to load in nd then it cant keep up with my texting, a delay all the time. I struggle to connect to internet unless through my Wi-Fi, my phone rings but I canoot answer it straight away as it wont let me. I have deleted most of my apps, messages and done various updates but it is still poor. This is under contract without insurance and vodafone are not interested. Told to do updates basically. I was reccommended this phone when I was due an upgrade and I chose this over an Iphone that I have always used in the past. Is this a common problem with these phones and what can I do to sort it out please? Dont think I will be using sony again which is sad as most of my electronic equipment are made by Sony.

Please someone help as my upgrade is not due untill November 2014.
