Xperia Mini Pro not auto-syncing anything

I recently got an XPeria Mini Pro that had never used a data plan before. I turned on data, but the auto-sync is behaving strangely. Although auto-sync is on in "Accounts and Sync", and my g-mail account is set to auto-sync mail, contacts, and calendar, it only does ONE auto-sync every day, at 3pm sharp. I tried everything, to no avail. I upgraded Android to ICS, but it still happens. I tried on WIFi as well as OTA, I tried while keeping my screen on, still nothing. I tried configuring the built in E-mail application to use my gmail account, but that wouldn't auto-sync either.

Neither GMail nor the built-in Email application are syncing automatically more than once a day at 3pm. Manual sync does work. Everything else using data (browser, etc) works fine.

Please help... I'm at the end of my wits...

How about if you try

settings > accounts > google > delete account > reset your phone > re add the account > check again

Also open the app drawer > google settings > Connected apps
