Overheating issue

My Sony Xepria E is just one week old. The phone gets heated up from the top half (near earpiece) when I am on a call. How to get it resolved?

This is normal, as long as you use the phone it will get hot, the more CPU demanding apps that you have open/running the faster it will get hot, you could repair your phone with SUS or PCC but again, its normal, if you think its getting too hot, you should stop by a Sony repair center

Thanks for the reply. I have already updated my software. And this heating phenomenon is happening without running any apps in the background. Such kind of heating, I have not faced in any of my other phones. Is it normal with Sony Xperia phones?

if you leave your wifi or data on, there are apps that will upload/download data

As stated earlier...

The apps were not running in tha background. I made sure that wifi and 2G data is off.

Can the phone still heat up while on a call? Should I take it to the service centre?

as long as you use the phone it will get hot, that's normal, also even if you think there aren't any background apps, there are, and that's normal

settings > apps > running

stay away from taskillers, task managers, etc.

You can take it to a Sony repair center but there's nothing wrong with your phone

I am also facing overheating prob although I bought it yesterday only.After starting of internet or charging phone or talking on phone for 5 min the device started to heating. What is the base reason of it.

Even, I face the same issue for my newly bought E Dual phone and it is sent to service with job sheet# W113103102307

It is simply claimed by the service center that, heating is a common problem in all Xperia series mobile and they cannot do anything and said that, I need to buy the phone knowing all this, so bear it!!

Buddy, how can you say that its normal & no issue? Because, one can't use a phone heated even for 5 mins of call...how can a company like SONY get this kind of phones and leave the customers?

The phone will become warm. Its not an issue. This is normal. The CPU becomes warm during activity and that is what you're feeling.

The phone also comes with an thermal application to keep you notified if it should, at any state become hot and give you a pop-up message about this and that it needs to be cooled down.

Have any of you received such pop-up messages?

i want to ask

i use sony original charger..

but when i charger my phone in 10 minutes my phone heat will increase like from 32 C to 45 C
like my phone want explode

but when i try my brother samsung charger my phone never overheating.. the heat just 32 C to 38 C

is there my charger have a trouble??

That's probably because our charger has more output and supports quick charging.

my phone is xperia E3 dual,The phone heating is just not only due to internal consumption of the battery, but also due to external radiation. because back side of my fingers used to get burning sensation while i browse.

also my ear gets irritation inside while i used to talk by keeping it near my ear , even while i switch off internet.

khammam service centre is just reloading software, two times done, but third time i gave it again to service centre lets see , what they will do,

i am sure that the heat is more due to electro magnetic tradiation rather than internal consumption by various application.

Hi, My Xperia E5 overheats, I did have a warning message once and had to cool it down, I also had it on charge last Saturday it was at 33% when I went to go out I unplugged my phone only to find the battery was completely discharged. I could not take my phone out with me.

I had no problems with my Xperia Arc, I just replaced it because it was not holding a charge for very long, but it never got hot.

My sony xperia z3 is overheating like the one above and even worse !
Also it's front screen got separated !, and now i have an issue with the separated screen and the battery because of the overheating.
Now i have to replace the front screen and the internal screen because of the overheating.
But in my country there are no genuine screens.
Could you help me with that?
