I have purchased Sony Xperia M it is having 4gb memory but atcually it is showing only 2gb

Xperia M has a total of 4GB of internal memory but some of this is required for the phones operating system and Android so you will not have 4GB of space for saving files, apps and games. The amount of available memory is around 2GB.

If you want to save alot of music, pictures and videos i recommend that you also purchase a microSD. The phone supports up to 32GB.

The rest 2GB is occupied by Andorid OS.

FYI, you can't transfer apps from internal memory to external Micro-SD card.

SONY should do something for this issue, What's the point in a designing a phone with decent hardware but not putting enough memory in it to use that hardware?!!

I 've. Sony Xperia c2305,It has 1gb Ram, 4gb internal space and 32gb external space...but it shows only 2gb intenal space..where is my 2gb?

From those 4GB,your OS uses almost 1 GB,plus the phone memory.

But atleast can be show its original space..why it shows 2gb..I mean it should show its orignal space with detail...like other 2gb is used for OS

Why Sony had to disable/remove the "move to sd card" feature for apps entirely. Its an integral part of android.
Even my 3 year old dumb android phone has this support.
Why Sony? Why?

But device shows only 2GB. Why?

Where is rest of the memory. How can I belive it has 4GB when I can't see it anywhere else?

Memory comprises of approximately of 1.2 GB firmware, plus 2 GB of “Internal Storage” for downloaded
applications, music, pictures and movies, and some application data.

I'm suprised how many time will be asking about phone memery and drain battery? A lot of topics just about that... Some users are so lazy that they can read some posts before theirs... I just can understand what is the point to ask always the same? A lot of time Sony and others users wrote here about this problems... Why need to ask about that again? Seriously is just annoying to read the same questions... Guys just read what wrote people/users before u... don't be so lazy
