This happens a lot to me after upgrading my phone to 4.1.2 but I still don't know how to solve this because the phone keeps doing this really often and I have to make a soft reset in order to be able to use it, even when I finish a phone call this happens and it is really annoying not being able to turn it on, my phone had something similar when it had the older software version but I only had to press three times the on button to turn the screen on

Hi...

I have purchased my new Xperia T smartphone 10 days ago and for three times de screen went dark... but the phone is on. In can receibe calls, I hear how de camera works or the sound of incoming messages. The only way to recover de screen is turning it off (pressing the power and volume bottons) to force a restart.

If I take the phone to the service I will be without any phone for two or three weeks.

Any idea? Thanks!

I have had this too, seems to happen when I am charging the phone and press the button to turn screen off/go to sleep.

I have just soft reset the phone (as you do using the power and volume button) and it's ok.

Perhaps another software updaate required by Sony....

If you have attempted a software repair since having this problem I am really only left with advising you to return the phone so that is may be assessed by an authorised repair agent sorry.
