Z1 Poor Camera

I am very disappointed with this product which i purchased about 10 days ago. How can a company like Sony spend so much on advertising a poor product. Have got it replaced once but still it's camera quality is way below the mark. I was using Samsung galaxy s advanced earlier with 5mp camera but till date its camera quality is much better than z1. Have updated to latest firmware and tried various manual settings but picture quality is not up to the mark specially in dim light. Anybody please help. I don't know what to do.

The Sony guy's can improve this product by spending half the amount of money they are spending on advertising this phone.

Honestly Sony isn't doing itself any favors advertising this phone as a camera centric phone when they are 8mp and 13 mp shooters giving better results. Not to mention they are always releasing half cooked features and then having to push many updates the Z1 is a beautiful but problematic phone miracast works if it feels like the wifi signal is poor then others have dual wifi to achieve higer downloads and uploads on wifi. I love Sony products but it seems the best thing they are making is there Cameras and the PS4 now and from reviews the software to boost the graphics aren't as good as the Xbox 1 offerings as characters look more realistic. I remember when Sony was number 1 like how apple is now will we ever see that again ? As for there CEO talking about one Sony trying to merge the best of all of Sony's technologies into one I think he is oblivious to our plights as consumers. Meanwhile the competition is killing us with better software I mean just look at the new Lumia's man they camera's are giving compacts a run for there money and if Sony are messing up the camera software on there phones for the sake of saving there point and shoot business they have another thing coming. Smartphones are the new trend get with it of get left behind simple put out the best you can and make the money or advertise as the best then deliver subpar and watch customers run in the other direction, I'm going to feel so sorry for Sony if they don't wake up soon as they customers are shifting to other products each day. Please Sony get your act together there is no way cheap phones and phones as old as 3-4 years old should be giving your new technology so close competition like seriously do you want to be the next blackberry,palm, or slowly going down like HTC who btw has a great phone in the HTC One, would of mentioned Nokia but they are gaining traction again and man they phones tout real photo centric capabilities if only they would adopt android.

Manual mode with Touch Focus gives me some terrific still life / macro shots.

I have managed to take some lovely shots at night without the use of a flash by tweaking ISO and WB (and a steady hand)

If I am shooting pics of my little boy I use the Timeburst Shift Mode and pic the best one.

What kind of problems are you having?

Is it focussing or is it 'noise'?

Can you put the same photo taken by your S Advance (which works out to a thrid the price of the Z1) and the same taken by the Z1, under similar conditions. Put up the orginal photos somewhere, dropbox, flickr not some resized ones.

Do post a low light picture too.

Can Sony update just the camera for the Z1?

Dear Sony can you push updates for only the camera on the Z1/Z1s and even Z2? The reason I'm asking this question is because your hardware is awesome but your software isn't . I have a google camera on my Z1 and it takes better pics than your native software.

They are plenty of blind camera test on all kind of tech sites and Sony lands in the middle and it's confusing to say the least. Even the 4ultra pixel crap Htc put on their flagship has beaten your Z2 in blind test and that ain't right I have a Lumia Icon and it's photos are amazing to say the leasts but with Nokia pushing the Cyan update to bring more improvements to the camera alone I was wondering if you can't do the same?I think it's high time you merge your mobile imaging and compact camera department like Samsung did your post processing is awful and it's getting worst not better. Just hire someone who can write proper camera software for mobile or something their's no way a 13mp camera should be taking better pics than my Z1 so imagine my disgust when 8 and even a 4mp camera is even giving better results I'm ashamed. Please fix this problem it can't be hard or just hire so developers from Xda and let them fix your camera software for you it would be appreciated.
