I bought a sony xperia z on 18th Aprail 2013. One of the features I really admired about my phone was it being "Water proof".

In august my phone just got switched off all of a sudden. So i visited the sony service center in Rohtak which is the nearest to BITS pilani where I am currently studying. The reply i got from them was that the litmus paper on the inside of the flaps had turned pink and hence the warranty has been voided due to water damage and it’s irrepairable. They also told me that in case I want a new phone I ll have to pay 70% of the price. The litmus could have turned pink because of moisture content from anywhere even my fingertips. On top of that the reason why the warranty gets voided is because of water damage of a water proof phone. Then i also visited the Mumbai (where I currently live) service centre and i got a similar reply, 20 days after handing them the phone. This is completely unacceptable.

I hope Sony would help me out on this and live up to its reputation.

I'm sorry to hear that. I suggest that you raise this with you local support team to get more information about your device and how you can proceed from here.

That’s exactly what I have been doing for the last 3 months to get my phone fixed. However I have been getting the same response from them. Spending Rs 37,990/- (600 USD) and then getting your phone spoiled without any help from the service centres is really disappointing. I would really appreciate if you will help me on this matter.

However no one has bothered to reply to that and even the sony service center has not contacted me regarding my phone. This is completely unacceptable. Its is your job to make sure that we are completely satisfied. I have been buying sony products for a long time and i expect some kind of commitment from your side. My phone hardly worked for 3 months and I havent even been provided with a solution. This is pathetic.
I hope you will get back to me with a solution.
