screen unlock

when i attempted to unlock my screen pattern my finger just slid across the screen after sveral attempts and waiting 30 seconds tried again, same thing kept happening. I wanted to remove this scren pattern once I could get into my phone. Anyway I am then told too many attempts enter your google account sounds simple enough but it wont accept the details. Check on computer to make sure all is right and of course it is, just phone decides it wont I presume the username is the google email. any ideas please.

From your phone, login your gmail account and key in null as password.

You have no other choice, you need to do a software repair. Download the latest version of PC Companion or SE Update Service from the link provided. All data on phone memory will be wiped out.

~~Ah-hem Gwhispererz, can't do a backup when you are locked out of your phone!~~ The rest of the advice is spot on, you will have to repair your phone and then kick the pattern lock into touch.... it was just this reason that got me involved with the forums when my son got his first android phone and a nosey friend locked him out. I have steered clear since then. Sadly you will lose all info on your phone as it will be back to factory settings.

I have a card in the phone and phone numbers pictures etc are all on there will they stay on there. Anyway you say i cant do anything if i cant get into phone. will sony be able to help.

SD Card memory will not be affected, hopefully you did a backup for your contacts.

Download SE Update Service (it works better) from the link provided earlier. Install it to your PC and run it, follow the on screen instructions.

If you follow the link above and download the Update Service, select your phone from the list and then follow the on screen instructions. It will probably tell you that the phone is upto date but if you are having problems then select the option for Repair. This will reload all the software, wiping over whats there already and then you just set your phone up again as if it was new. Your SD card contents will be unaffected.

that al sounds good and quite easy only problem is i think my husband threw my box of wires etc away thinking i had finished with it So now i am truly lumberd

If you are referring to the USB cable, it is the same one you use for charging the phone, just detach it from the plug.

Hey Fran, its the wire that you charge your phone with, just take it out of pluggy bit and the end is a USB connector.
