I suggest that you download Xperia diagnostics and then do the touch screen test to see if your touch screen is faulty.

If the screen respond as it should the problem really should be solved by a repair in PC Companion or a factory reset. Make sure that you try to use the keyboard with no 3rd party apps installed and that you don't have any charger connected to the phone.

Hello everyone.
Yesterday my Xperia S showed an annoying problem. Keyboard letters "r" and "d" are not working anymore. When I try to press "r" I got "t" or "e". When I use landscape keyboard everything works fine. I tried others 3d party kbds but nothing changed. I also tried to do a factory reset but few things changed since after that I found again all the same applications and same android version 4.1.2 (bought with 2.something). Please can you help me? I'm now using the old style keybd with 3 letters per button and it works fine but it's uncomfortable. Help!! :-(((

Try restart your phone first by pressing and holding standby button and volume up key until u get a vibration.

If not ok then try repairing your OS. Use Sony Update Service...

1. Make sure you have 50% or more battery.

2.switch off your phone and wait 30 sec. ( don't switch back your phone )

3. Press & Hold volume down key and connect your phone to computer.

4. Follow on screen instructions.

5. After update first booting will take some extra time.

Try using update service from Sony.

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/
