Hello! I know basic french and i took a look at the forum you've posted.Unfortunately, the autohr of the thread has opening discussion is it possible to install Hellox2 on Vivaz.It is written that Hellox2 are installed to the stage where you have to install the last file ActiveFileSystemX.They didn't manage to install it.

I found a very interesting info there too.They are discussing that the OLD firmware of Satio,respectively Vivaz is HACKABLE !But from SE has disabled this only in the newest firmware.So, it is pointed that if you manage to debrand your Vivaz/Satio - you could succesfully install Hellox2 on your phone.

Hello all Forummobiliens / Forummobiliennes!

New from the world of SE, I just had my Vivaz for less than a week and I was surprised he was still not hacked.

By hacked

I mean that the phone would deal more signatures / certificates.

So I created this in the hope of a hack this functional Sony Ericsson.

I will describe some tests I could perform, in order to lose as little time as possible to all hackers out of the corner!

Vivaz being in S60v5, my first thought was (stupidly) thatHelloOX 2

would fit the bill. I was far from reality!

Vivaz is not supported (not supported yet we should say).

I tried to find out why, with some limited knowledge I have.

Once signed, it installs successfully, but at the opening of the latter, it proceeds to the mapping (creation of virtual disks), with success, and then decompresses the files on drive c: \ (ram the phone). Step raises concerns, decompression does not occur.

So I decided to go further and see what files the problem posed.

In c: \ HelloOX, there are 5 files:

installserver.zip
Moveinstallserver.zip
SwiCertStoreUpdaterD.zip
ActivateFileSystem.sisx
ROMPatcherPlus.sisx

Three. Zip are the culprits, so I have unzipped pc, then transferred back to their original place, and I deleted the 3. Zip naturally.

Once done, restart HelloOX 2 should reprogram the mapping + note that the files are already extracted.

This is actually the case. But it followed a pretty mistake!

Not dwell on that failure, I also say that HelloOx2 <<n'est basique> a tool> that automates the steps of the hack.

To summarize the actions HelloOx2:

1. Map the drive.

2. Unzip files on the virtual drive hacks.

3. Enable access to system folders (c: \ sys \ bin in this case).

4. Unmap the drive.

5. Install the root certificate.

6. Install ROMPatcher +.

By inference, it is blocked in step 3.

It would therefore file ActivateFileSystem.sisx

that:

-Is not suited to the directory structure Vivaz.

-Is not properly executed by HelloOX.

Knowing that the model of Sony Ericsson "Satio" (very close in terms of software Vivaz) managed to be hacked through HelloOX, I lean toward the second choice.

I therefore de-sign the file ActivateFileSystem.sisx

then resigns with my. cer &. key.

I put him back with X-plore.

I always runs under X-plore, he moved successfully.

I raise HelloOx2 always wrong.

Basically I'm here, I try to move forward with the logic ...

The problem that arises now is able to write to c: \ sys to copy / paste the files from the hack.

If anyone has an idea, a board, I'd be happy to listen!

Of course (note to moderators: it's not specefied in any place that this is against the rules, so I assume I'm not breaking them by giving the info, if I am, just delete my post and accept my apologies).

1. Go to: C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\ and delete db folder

2. Run SEUS and update your Vivaz

3A. Download the R2EA021 Generic Trade United Kingdom firmware file (latest): http://www.mediafire.com/?ttem6wuemx48b03
3B. (OPTIONAL) If you need other languages (list of languages http://www.fastgsm.com/en/sonyericsson/se/sony-ericsson-vivaz-u5/774/aviable-language-versions ), download the custom pack for R2EA023 (other languages) : http://www.4shared.com/file/247680799/f0860556/U5_debranding.html

NOTE: I used the Generic one from 3B and worked fine on mine. Others work aswell, but I haven't tested them myself.

4. Open the archive. Select the region you want to change to (delete de .bin extension of the extracted file if it has one).

5. Go to: C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs and sort files in ascending order. Search for a file which is about 370bytes in size (+/- 30 bytes).

6. Copy it's file NAME and rename the file which you choose in STEP 4.

7. Again go to: C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\ and delete db folder

8. This is the most important step. Run SEUS and update your Vivaz. SEUS will start download firmware files. After download process will be almost complete (about 98% should do it) you need to copy file that you prepared in step 6 and confirm change. Wait until SEUS will flash firmware (like normal).

9. Turn on your Vivaz. It'll most likely give you an "incorrect setup" message (or something like that), IGNORE IT (if it doesn't go to step 10 just the same).

10. Last step. You need to update your phone 3rd time. SEUS will should detect new firmware for your Vivaz.

That's all there is to it.

Great Thanks! But I can't make out some things:

1. In step 1 there is said to delete db folder, but in step 5 - to enter that very db folder

2. In step 4, the extracted file itself has .bin extension, what should I do?

3. In step 10: should I update the phone or just see if there's an update available?

1 - you delete the folder (don't worry, it's automatically created when you update/reinstall your firmware), it's written there in case you never used the Updater before.

2 - remove the .bin extension (so it won't have any extension) and rename it to the file (the + - 370kb one you found), and replace it when the firmware download is at 98% (overwritting the one if the db folder).

3 - Update is recommended, even if you don't recieve a "incorrect setup" error.

It says I have the latest software and there's no need to update

and the smallest file in the direction given is 1.17KB 😐

Not sure why you don't have that file...tried sorting the files by size?
Also, reinstall the firmware even if it's the latest. If yo unever updated/reinstalled the firmware on your phone, could be a reason why you don't have the file. Not really sure on this one though.

Obviously, yes. It's like reinstalling Windows on a PC.

It'll erase everything on drive C: (phone's internam memory), but it'll leave your memory card as it was.

I recommend you backup your contacts, messages etc. with the PC suite.

In my case, all the things that I had installed (all on my memory card) were still there, but I CANNOT tell you what happens if you had a game/app on C: .

Well, I did all the research and testing I could, and I've concluded that it doesn't work.

It shows the logic why it doesn't work, but no actual solution atm.

This IS (however) helpfull for the hack-developers, so it's not impossible, it's just not possible RIGHT NOW.

And I've got two more questions:

In Step 8: I got the idea, that I have to copy the file prepared when the download percentage is 98%, but after that should I wait for the software to be installed in the mobile? (I don't understand what Flashing means :])

In step 10: If it detects an update, that means the phone is debranded, but you said it is recommended to update - then, will not it install the newest version again, the one which I'm trying to get rid of?

Actually (did it again just to show a friend) when the download hits 100%, then you must (fast) move and replace the file there.

If may or may not detect a new version, that doesn't really matter. But you WILL need the 3rd flashing for the program to install the new (debranded) firmware.

TO EXPLAIN BETTER: you flash 1 time to obtain the file name. //////////////// you flash a 2nd time to replace the file (you still have branded firmware) //////////////////// you flash a 3rd time to get the corect (unbranded firmware).

Basically, the file you place there is a "regoin detection" file, so everytime you update/reinstall, Software Updater checks that file to see which firmware and which region you need. Simple once you get it. ^_^

P.S. flashing = reinstall firmware

Thank you again very much, but in step 8, after copying the file(i.e. copying and replacing, because the file name is the same) when the 101/102MB was downloaded, the installation gave me an error. It said: Installation failed, check that your battery is charged at least at 50%, but the battery is full. 😐 what can be the issue?

That happened to me the first time.

Replace the file when it says "installing" (as soon as you see it do the file-replace, do it fast just in case since I'm not sure how much time it takes before it copies that specific file).

If you got that error, it means you'll have to go back to step 1 though (delete the folder) UNLESS you made a copy of the original file.

When you purchase a phone from a service provider (Vodafone, Orange, etc.) it comes with pre-defined internet settings, lots of logos and music files and themes pre-installed and are PROTECTED (so you cant delete them to get free space).

Well, debranding is pretty much removing the service provider firmware and installing a generic firmware (which doesn't include all those things, therefore you have more memory/freedom to play with).
