Xperia Z battery indicator error

So I bought an xperia z in April, and there were no problems for the first 2 months. But now my battery indicator(the % and the picture of the small battery) is telling me the wrong values. This will always happens when the battery reaches under 40%,so if I turned the phone off in for example 37%, when I turned it on again, the indicator will show me around 50-60% and when the phone has reached around 20% it will shutdown, and tell me that it has 0% battery. I am sick of memorizing my battery every night or if I wanted to turn the phone off. I have tried factory reset, repairing via SUS, and also done the press volume up and pwr button till the xz vibrates 3 times, none of them work. If I am not able to solve this issue, im afraid this will be my first and my last Sony phone. I has contacted my local Sony service center and they said that I have to leave my phone there, I refuse to do it, since I have heard bad reviews about Sony service centers in Indonesia where it take months to fix a small issues. i do have a task killer, its clean master if im not mistaken. and no battery apps

repair your phone with SUS and do NOT install any of those apps also uninstall mcafee

From what I've read on the XDA forum, this is a kernel-level bug. After a restart, it can show a higher percentage than what the battery state really is. The bug can actually be quite dangerous, as some phones reportedly haven't recovered if the battery is let run empty until the phone switches itself off.

Until Sony releases a fix, do not let the battery run empty. Charge the phone overnight (leave it connected for several hours even after the indicator says "100%"). This way the battery is trickle-charged to its true capacity.

If you reboot your phone and the percentage jumps, do not trust the indicator. It's more likely the percentage prior to the boot was the correct one.

This is a seroius bug and I really hope Sony releases a fix very soon.

I have a C6602 with FW 10.3.A.0.423 and it too suffers from this bug.

I've tried reinstalling via SUS again, and the error still occurs, I have removed the task killer apps too.

i have same problem to with my Sony Xperia ZL , the different is my battery indicator show 80% before automatically turned off , then when i start charge its start from 80% ( so the battery phone can only fill about 20 %) it makes me suffer.. please help me about this battery indicator issue.. thanks

I have same problem. When the battery is below for example 40% and after restart there is usually around 20% more battery and then it will last until to 0%. I have noticed that it won't to it always. After restart and full charge cycle it will show and last normally but after another restart eventually it will do it again. Now I've tried custom roms like Cyanogenmod. It appeard to be help'd but now I've noticed that the problem is back. At first when the problem appeared I returned the phone to the repair and all they did was a new FW and said the problem was solved. After 3 days it was the same problem again.

Do you have the latest software update. I had this battery level bug only when I updated the software to the one before. As soon as I updated to .244, the problem never came back. Seems it was an issue with a previous update.

I don't know exatly but I think the problem came when I updated 4.2.2 Right now I am using CM 10.2 nightly Android 4.3 and the problem is back. Maybe some update again and it's gone...I don't know.

i have the same problem my phone firstly drain from 25% to 1% and shut down Now its drain from 45% to 1%. While Charging its chrge till 50% and jump to 75 % then again 80% to 100%.Please tell me its battery problem or anything else.if its battery problem then i will go for new battery.please tell me the solution for this if any solution is there.
