Xperia Z1 comes with a Physical Hard Reset Button, just noticed.

so How to hard reset Xperia Z1 ? just Press and Hold down OFF Button with a tip of a pen or a similar object for 3 seconds.

Please, only a few know this, because almost nobody actually read the manual.

This information along with the illustration is from the beginning in the official user's manual for the phone.

I found this by mistake as I thought it was the button to push out the sim card!

No. It works like a power switch in the computer, just shuts it down by force.

Yes. It works pretty much the same as PC's ATX power button.

I've had mine just over 2 weeks and it just went black,I was so scared lol. But then seen this sight pressed the red button and now it's fine,thank god!

Can please somebody help me with this.

I forgot my pin number on the unlocking screen to get in my xperia Z1 and now I can do nothing to it, only turn on and then he asks me for pin or I can only do emergency phone calls. Any way I can reset from factory? Thanks

By mistek i was activated security code,and now i cant access my xperia z1.

LOL guys, always read the manual first before you turn the phone ON. Reading the manual doesn't take more than 15 minutes.

Can I either use the power button and the volume up to hard reset the device or it can just done by pressing the hard reset button?
