camera problem

xperia z1 camera is having too more noise the bionz proocessing chip is not working well can u fix this problem or not.so many people having this problem.can u fix it or this cant fix.you promote this mobile is having best camera but it giving very poor image its very grainy image.i want to know you fix this problem or not

Is it on low light settings? are you using superior auto instead of manual settings?

I was taking pictures with my one its perfect accept for night pictures, also i got kicked out my camera after 6 photos and it said camera unavalible every time i tried to enter it untill i restarted it

@mani43 where are you saving your pictures? internal storage or SD card?

you could try this

settings > apps > all > camera > clear everything > restart your phone (press and hold power & volume up for 5 seconds )

haha for all solutions restart phone! :smileysmileythumbsup: i think thats becoming a trend now the problem might go away which it did but the point is its still there somewhere it hasnt necessarily fixed it.

come on guys think you lot are ment to be sony phone guru's no disrespect to you wooly as i no you and nabz helps alot!.

I have the exactly same phone. So perhaps you could just give it a chance to know the camera If you need help with taking pictures in difficult light, just ask, we will gladly help. You cannot blame the phone for not taking perfect pics when there is no light, because photos need at least some little light

this is not only my problem so many people having this problem while launching event they took pic very sharp and super after that i bought one phone here that pic pic quality is worst comparing to that its having more noise.how to take thw pic in diff light condition

There is no doubt that Sony has provided a better Camera with Xperia Z1 but the Noise level is a lill more specially at 100% Zoom, Images tend to appear quite noisy even when its shot under good Light.

Definetly to much noise but hang tight my friend there is an update on the horizon hopefully this fixes all those noisy pics that you and the others have I have faith in Sony so should you let's give them the benefit of the doubt and let's see what will happen.

I agree that the camera is not what I expected. The camera on my iPhone 4s makes better pictures then this z1 in manual 20mp... Kind of disappointed as Sony makes us believe this should be a superb camera...

Here is the unleash the phones camera review of the 1020 vs the Z1 I prefer there review as they aren't as biased as some tech sites out there, also bare in mind that the 1020's photo's can be tweaked more than the z1's photo's after the intial photo is taken which I suspect alot of sites did. With that said the Sony needs to update the CAMERA software asap as it is right now I think the 5s can beat the Z1 in low light photos and that ain't right anyway the link.

You actually can't compare 20Mp sensor with 40Mp one. It's just not right.

Keep in mind that 1020 use "triple" oversampling, Z1 only "double", exactly because this difference in sensor resolutions.

Plus, 1020 takes 5Mp final photo (auto-mode, with oversampling so the photo is much better), and Z1 takes 8Mp.

In my opinion they are simply not comparable the way you try to say are. And no need to bring nokia here anyway.

Back to the subject - I can agree that Sony should do some work on the camera software, as a photographer I can say there is too much post-processing, but I am sure they are already on it, the phone has been a little rushed.

@Anandd

You should try lower ISO value. The photo you posted was taken at ISO-800, you can't expect no noise with such a high ISO. It always goes this way: higher ISO = more noise. No matter what camera, this is a nature of the digital camera sensors.

Use manual mode and try to play with the settings, get to know the camera, for example - set iso to 200 or 400 and try again, results will be much better, significantly less noisy, you will see.

You do realise it's not me doing the comparison right and on paper there is no way you should compare the 20mp to 41mp but in real life that's not what's going to happen and you and I know this quite well. Also when you say A you should state B and that is that you shouldn't compare a 8mp or a 13mp with a 20mp camera either but ppl and the tech sites are and this has nothing to do with Nokia but they do boast the best camera on a phone and as long as you advertise any phone as having a good camera it will be pitted against the best that's how ppl will know how good your product is and Sony and Nokia have been in camera battel for years back with the cyber shot/satio days vs the N8 and N73. Fact is this is what ppl are doing and wether you like it or not this is what is happening Sony needs to be on there A game from day one especially with there cameras cause alot of ppl are saying the 20 mp Glens isn't as impressive as Sony made it out and the coustomers are at the front of the line. I just wish Sony would go back to the days when they wowed the masses with the actual product and not the talk.

The point is, the guy had Xperia Z and now with Z1 his photos are somehow worse. Not that some Nokia is better.

Z has 13Mp, Z1 has 20Mp. He is comparing them because he have a problem, so I am trying to explain some non common things.

Don't forget this is a support forum, not some Nokia/Sony blog.
