Hi everyone,

brand new owner of xperia m and ufortunatly with big dissapointment at the beginning. Everything is working correctly except for the GPS. Wont get fix no mather what i do. Have tried leave it outside with gps test app running for like one hour and nothing. Can see satelites but wont recieve any signal and wont get fix. Have seen that it managed to recieve signal from 1 or 2 satelites for short moment but then all of them gone at one moment (not to mention that the signal was bad)...

Have tried to clear a gps cache, have tried to restore the phone to factory settings. Restarts ... Still the same. I am using latest firmware 4.1.2 build 15.1.c.1.17.

Any recomendations or just to throw the phone outside the window?

Thanks

Radek

You could try shifting to Mumbai. I am in Mumbai and my GPS lock is instantaenous :). And no dont you throw it outta the window please , not before you update the software. Maybe that will fix it. If it doesnt do remember you have the Sony warranty. Use it mate.

Buddy,

I too was experiencing the same problem encountered by you. But I was too silly to search for a GPS lock from within my room Its written in the user guide, which I happened to read later, that the GPS antenna was unable to penetrate through buildings and mountains though it can penetrate through plastic. Hence, while trying to set location for the first time you need to have a clear view of the sky. I tried it out by going out in the open and got an instantaneous GPS lock. Hope it helps

I have two phones.

One is Sony Ericsson Xperia mini pro.

and second I bought today Xperia M Dual sim.

Noticed 2 problems in Xperia M Dual

1. I am unable to LIKE anything in facebook app.

2. GPS is not working, not showing my location. I tried google maps and some other GPS based apps in xperia mini pro and it was working fine in that phone but not in XPERIA m dual.

Even I updated the firmware software, and again I used software repair option. but both problems still remain.

I think Sony must quickly release new update with fixed mistakes, bugs which there are too much in Xperia M which running Jelly Bean 4.3 right now Root avoid your warranty... so i want to use my phone normally, but i don't want to lose my warranty, coz i bought Xperia M just one month ago, so i need warranty even how much are bugs in this device which running metioned Jelly Bean operating system at this time... If i lose my warranty i will must paid for each mistakes, bugs which did Sony with new update Jelly Bean 4.3 It's fair? I don't think so... Really i must fix all mistakes, bugs which did Sony with new update? I think no... So the only way for Sony is quickly fix all mistakes, bugs... and don't lose clients... coz most of us i think will choose others manufactures devices in future if Sony will not learn (coz i giving impression that Sony's don't know how to update operating systems correctly, at this time, coz was many problem with Ice Cream Sandwich too in Live With Walkman too) how to update right

euphorics, Sony had a time to fix this. It was mentioned here on forum at least fourth times.

Problem was in 4.1.2 and still persist in 4.3

You can wait for fix / FW update, but I not sure that it will be.

Anyway this solutions for those who need almost normal GPS right now.

Hi guys,

I purchased xperia m dual in october last year.

Before the update to jelly bean, the GPS was working perfectly fine.

But after the update, GPS just does not work.

I tried all the options(going out under the open sky, factory reset, restart, enable GPS settings etc..) but none seem to work.

Is this problem only to some users ??

Because if you see the sales of xperia m/xperia m dual, they were one of the highest.

And going by the volume of the pieces sold, and also assuming even half of them updated the s/f, sony support forum would have been bombarded with this issue. But this is not the case.

Can someone please guide me in this regard..!!!!!
