I suggest that you remove the battery from the phone for a while. Then leave it connected to the charger for a couple of hours. It can take some time before the phone indicates that it's charging.

If the problem persists, first of all try with another charger. If you have the same problem with another charger I suggest that you try to repair the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phones software > Press the blue link 'repair phone'.

Hi there,

my Xpeira U won't turn on and I hope someone can offer suggestions to fix.

What happened: battery was at 14%, so i plugged in to recharge but it did not seem to be charging, and now I am unable to turn it on at all. I don't know if the battery is flat hence the problem or if there is something else wrong. I have left it on charge for several hours but still unable to turn on. I notcied that the LED notification was in red colour although now it is not on at all i.e. not showing red, orange or green. Could this mean the charger is dead or battery is dead???

Pls let me know if yiou have questions and have suggestions.

Degs
