Did you try a factory reset after firmware update? If not try it. After an important OS update like the upgrade from ICS to JB is a good idea to restore the device to factory condition to improve speed and avoid conflict of third party app.

Also check if unit is slow even without SD card (If inserted)

I had updated my Xperia Ion to JB from ICS recently. Unfortunately, after the update, my phone is lagging like a snail. Taking too much time to load the home page, contacts, apps, camera etc. I tried uninstalling almost all third-party apps from my phone. Also freed phone memory. But still its slow and I am badly regretting about the JB update. ICS was much much better. Can someone please suggest how to repair the JB to improve the performance ? Any new bug fixes? Thank you.

Unfortunately, NO. I had followed all instructions of these so called "experts". Its so frustrating that the phone is slower than ever. I have hardly one or two apps in my mobile. Phone memory is almost free. Still it is hanging like anything. No thirdparty apps, no battery apps, no task killers. I tried flashing it and again installing JB. Still no escape. After a while, its hanging like anything. Anywway to downgrade to ICS?
